Hugs for all those with medical issues including flylady friends.
- went to Body Pump
- came home and fell asleep while reading. That must be some sort of record - asleep by 11am oh dear. In my defence, I didn't have a brilliant night.
- went to Alexander lesson.
- emailed relocation coordinator at voluntary job to see if I can go in this week and where I'll be. I'm needed tomorrow but not Wed, which is ok.
- arranged engineer visit as utility company have finally got the message that they need to come and fix the Smartmeter.
- did drumming practice.
- checked greenhouse. Still harvesting climbing French beans, flying saucer squashes and the spinach/chard is reaching jungle proportions again. Plum tomatoes are beginning to ripen and looking good.
- went to zumba
- remembered to sort out birthday card for a gym friend who I should see tomorrow

Morning all xx
I got up at 7, took my thyroid meds, then went back to bed; dozed, then completed the nyt puzzles before getting up again at 8.30. I've made my bed, taken my other meds, turned over the calendars, and made a brew.
Nothing written on the calendar today. I was thinking of going to see Pops this morning. He's just phoned so that is now a definite. I'll have another brew, then shower and dress. That's a good start.
Love to all.

Afternoon all 😄
Yesterday came and went. I have no recollection now of what I did, apart from making chutney and doing WMx3 - oh, and we had an Old Wives' meeting in the evening, with two lots of cake (and most people had a slice of each!).
This morning I have
- labelled the chutney
- rinsed about 24 more jam jars which DS1 brought me yesterday, and managed to peel the labels off about 20 of them; the rest will go in the recycling together with the manky lids
- FU washing from the TD; DH had left a paper something in his pocket which had shredded itself finely all over the rest of the load
- hoovered up all the fluff and bits from the above activities
- cleaned the TD filter
- set the WM running empty apart from cleaner
- opened a huge pile of post, most of it from a single bank because they are incapable of putting everything in one big envelope: notice of receipt of ISA transfer request, confirmation that this has been carried out, final statement, welcome to my new ISA including various booklets which I already have in at least triplicate, opening statement …!!!
A story to make you smile:
- Me: Is that cereal bowl to go in the DW?
- DH: yes, I used it to defrost the mango to go on our yogurt and cereal.
- Me: I think this mango must have got freezer burn - it's lost all its taste.
- DH: I see what you mean.
- Me: Where did you get it from?
- DH: Out of the middle drawer of the kitchen freezer.
- Me: There's only veg in there. The fruit is out in the utility freezer.
- DH: [looks blank, trying hard to engage brain, realisation begins to dawn that he hadn't checked the label…]
- Me: It's butternut squash.
🤣🤣
DS2 says it's our fault for trying to eat healthily - we wouldn't have mistaken bacon for anything else!

I visited Pops as planned.
I've ordered my 'special' Christmas cards and 'special' birthday cards for birthdays celebrated between 1st November and 4th January. The other three birthdays in January will receive a card from my generic stash. Free delivery and a discount for ordering 'in bulk'. Being mse. 🙂
I fed the birds and put out the recycling. And binned a torn pair of gardening gloves as L bought me new ones for my birthday.
Every little helps

Lol at your DH's freezer escapade Iona!
I have calculated how much my friends owe me as I picked up the tab for our meal at the Turkish grill (and we are so going back - it was lovely!) and got it completely wrong. The total bill (before tip) was a satisfying number - £123.45. Anyway now sorted so hopefully ££ are winging their way into my account. Also got the rabbits water bottles and given them a good scrub out and refilled and returned them.
Have also been on Quidco compare and sorted new car insurance policy as my renewal quote from my old insurers could be significantly beaten by another company.

Love the idea of butternut squash on yoghurt! It really is the blandest of bland vegetables.
Scrubbed out all the bird waterbowls and refilled them, only to find about 30 minutes later that one of them had already refilled with carp. I'm going to move that one. Watered all the troughs, pots and tomatoes at the front and the tomatoes at the back. Picked everything that had started to blush so it can all ripen in the kitchen.
Ran a load through the WM last night and pegged it out late this morning after all the showers had passed through. It was so windy it's now all dry, folded and put away.
Made a batch of pea, cucumber and mint soup for when friends come to stay later this month. They semi-vegetarian so I've had to dust off quite a lot of favourite veggie recipes and I find I've now got quite a good collection of them so we have choices. The h/m veggie lasagne made with various boxes of stuff that had been in the freezer for oooooooh a little over a long while, was delish. I prefered it to lasagne made with meat, tbh. Will probably do roughly the same recipe again with lovely tins of ratatouille from our French trips, even more lentils and Mr L's bechamel sauce, which in case there are people who haven't discovered it is available during Italian weeks, has absolutely no nasties in it, lasts for yonks and is an absolute bargain.
Had to put a large collection of 'useful stuff' * sigh * which had been collecting on the landing for a month or so up in the attic, which I used as an opportunity to shuffle stuff up around there and my end now has a fair amount of floor space for me to get to grips with piles of paperwork that I want to hang on to, but that has all gone up in dribs and drabs so needs tidying into appropriate plastic drawers. I moved all the Christmas stuff from where it was dumped in January to where it should be, moved all the cases into a corner where there is no light because we rarely now need them and if we do, it's obvious which one we need because: size. Got the dog's metal water bowl, the original Honey Bear's winter rain jacket which will fit Wren very well, and a big water bowl for Twiggy's nighttime boudoir down. Also brought down a huge amount of bubble wrap and packing materials to go to the Scrapstore when the car comes back from it's MOT which is happening pretty much right now. Very happy with all of that.
Thence to the double to put the croquet stuff away which is now all fully dry after the rain at the end of that day, put the wheelchair in the coalhole where it fits snugly, and Belovéd's folding bike in the cupboard we call the wine cellar because I won't have it cluttering up the cupboard under the front steps. If it's in his way he'll either get the saddle problem sorted out or he'll 'let it go'; if it were in my way I'd have to lump it for years. Not happening Babe.
There are some plastic storage boxes with lids that need to go up to the attic which is where I'd look for them first when I need them; Belovéd doesn't want to let them go because he might need them although I am. Other than that, pretty much everything that was excess to requirements is now in the dining room waiting to be delivered to various places when I can get out and about. The house feels lighter.
Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.8 -
I've decided that putting the clean washing away as soon as it is dry makes such a difference to keeping the house tidy. I've started hanging anything that needs ironing at one end of the wardrobe until I feel the urge to do some ironing. Also getting the kitchen tidy after dinner is becoming a habit and makes the next morning feel so much better.
I made a chocolate and banana cake this afternoon and also prepped a chicken madras curry for tomorrow. MrBC's chum is visiting for the day and apparently they are doing some organising and tidying in the garage. I'll bribe and/or reward them with a slice of cake and a cup of good coffee. I'll report on their progress tomorrow.
