How much space for clearing guttering from the ground
I am planning to have my gutters cleared but have no idea how far away from the wall person doing the clearing would have to stand. I would like to make sure there is enough space as a first step. TIA

well first off it depends how high/accessible the guttering is.
they can only get to mine by putting the ladder in Next Door’s yard.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.1 -
Get someone round to give you a quote - they will let you know.

The person or the ladder?
For a ladder there is an approximate 4-to-1 rule (75 degrees), i.e., say, 1.25m for 5m height. And, most likely, a stand-off will be needed at the top of the ladder that will add 25-30cm.

I should have said - possibly DIY doing it from the ground without ladders.

How high is the gutter?

You don't necessarily need a ladder. The people who specialise in gutter cleaning have what is effectively a jet wash nozzle on the end of a long pole. If the pole will reach the gutter, then they can do it from the ground.
So long as they have enough space to walk around the house, that will do.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
The chap who did mine used a giant vacuum cleaner. It worked really well. All done from the ground. No ladders. There was a camera attached to the top of the vac tube, so he could see what he was doing. He also vacuumed the down pipe.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2 -
I've not heard of getting someone in to do it but I suppose it must happen though I have no idea how much it costs. I use a ladder to do mine. It's a very simple job but obviously you do need a ladder! You can buy one for £150-200 and then you can do it again and again and save the cost of getting in people to do it. True MSE!

I always do it myself - with a ladder with a stand-off. And it's not a bungalow.

Can you tell us how he did the downpipe please?
Only asking as FIL neighbours downpipe between bay windows that goes into the ground sometimes overflows and it may be blocked but to clear it I think the downpipe will need to be cut/removed to check but as you mentioned this I think that could be an option.
