CHIP easy access ISA
I have recently opened one of these and I'm not happy with the fact that they want access to all my bank account details - this includes balance and transactions.
This doesn't sound safe and secure.
Advice please.

Its open banking through True Layer, they arent actually going to go rooting through your transactions, its just a secure way of being able to pay into it.
If you are bothered fund it via a debit card payment like I just did this week (but only because the Halifax—> Lloyds transfer has confused it)

It's very safe and secure, but as noted above you can still just fund your account via debit card if you prefer.

Thank for your inputs. I am simply doing an ISA transfer into its with no expected further payments in this financial year. Does that change your responses. TIA

Nope. The open banking is still safe, and the debit card option is still available.

Agree with you.
What isn't clear, neither from the app nor from anything on their website, is such an Open Banking connection required when it is not needed.
In other words, do Chip insist that it's set up?
