Haggling Works
Just got my Virgin M125 BB down to £19 ppm, by rejecting the various, more expensive, renewal offers they threw at me, telling them I wanted to initiate the 30 days notice cancellation process, then sitting back and waiting for their next move.
Got a call from their retentions department today (I only cancelled yesterday), and he pretty much straight away offered me the £19 deal. Result!
I actually expected to wait much longer before they phoned me up, and to be offered higher priced deals first.

Well done, I initiated a switch away from VM and although no offer by phone they did email me and gave a UK number to call.
I recontracted my M125 at £21 with a £50 bill credit.
I was paying £26.61 out of contract and the best offer in my online account was £25.58, I did try calling before I started the switch and the best offer on the phone was £34.0 -
My current price is £29.82, and my contract ends this month. The lowest renewal offer that came up in my account was £26.32, but I knew I could get better. I didn't really want to have to speak to someone on the phone, so I went through their online chat (I've done it before). The lowest offer they'd give me was £24, but I'd heard I could get lower. That's when I told them I wanted to go through with the cancellation.

I didn't really want to cancel, it was a negotiating strategy to get a good real. I'd heard that £19 was the absolute lowest they'd go, so that was what I was aiming for. I didn't expect it to be so easy.
