last night I forced myself to make chicken stock in the slow cooker with the leftover roast even though I was knackered
was a lovely smell to wake up to though
the slow cooker is fab for things like that just break up the carcass and chuck in the leftover veg (leave the potatoes out and add them later if you make soup) add an onion and whatever else you find the fridge, some peppercorns and salt and a few bayleaves. 8 to 10 hours later on low and bobs your uncle. Only thing is you have to get up early enough to take it out and dunk the crock in a sink full of cold water (so it can go in the fridge before work).
I'm going to make it into chicken and potato soup because there were loads of potatoes leftover I'm hoping it'll be a few days of meals for me because I'm down to my last 60 quid until payday (2 weeks). I think next week I'm going to have some odd combinations of things that are already in the cupboard.MFi3 member 105 - MFW date Oct 2023 - 12 years 9 months more0 -

I've just discovered Quidco and keep kicking myself for not using it before, in three days I've got £12 validated on stuff I was going to buy on line anyway like holiday care hire and airport parking.... I feel sick thinking about what I could have saved last year as we had 6 weddings ( John leiws gifts) and a trip to the Orkney Isands for one of them ( Travelodge) plus car hire and airport parking.... but never mind now I've found Quidco I'm off to do some surveys0 -
