    Today I:

Bought a tin of soup from home for lunch
no vending machine trips as have snacks here already
updated books on amazon and green met - relisting/taking off ones I've sold
Asked for 99p refund from amazon on something I bought which has gone down in price.

Out at my rehearsal tonight so not much scope for MSE'ing but I hope to find some things for small ads at work/ebay when I get in.

last night I forced myself to make chicken stock in the slow cooker with the leftover roast even though I was knackered

was a lovely smell to wake up to though

the slow cooker is fab for things like that just break up the carcass and chuck in the leftover veg (leave the potatoes out and add them later if you make soup) add an onion and whatever else you find the fridge, some peppercorns and salt and a few bayleaves. 8 to 10 hours later on low and bobs your uncle. Only thing is you have to get up early enough to take it out and dunk the crock in a sink full of cold water (so it can go in the fridge before work).

I'm going to make it into chicken and potato soup because there were loads of potatoes leftover I'm hoping it'll be a few days of meals for me because I'm down to my last 60 quid until payday (2 weeks). I think next week I'm going to have some odd combinations of things that are already in the cupboard.

    Today I have:
taken lunch into work( homemade brocoli and stilton soup that I made yesterday using up all the left over bits of Christmas cheese).
made tea from leftovers and store cupboard ( lentil cottage pie)
planned a menu for the week
sorted out some ebay bits to list
applied for a new credit card via Quidco.

I've just discovered Quidco and keep kicking myself for not using it before, in three days I've got £12 validated on stuff I was going to buy on line anyway like holiday care hire and airport parking.... I feel sick thinking about what I could have saved last year as we had 6 weddings ( John leiws gifts) and a trip to the Orkney Isands for one of them ( Travelodge) plus car hire and airport parking.... but never mind now I've found Quidco I'm off to do some surveys
