Hugely well done for going in Round and getting the situation sorted out. I'm so sorry your workplace is so stressful for you.
I had a productive day at my desk yesterday after making a cake for lovely next door neighbour, and was looking forward to getting back to what I'd left undone today. I knew I had to make Nigella's Barbados Cream to go with the Clementine cake, but figured that would be quick and easy so it could wait until after I'd trundled Wren and been to the Co-0p to get the cream and Greek yoghurt. * sigh *
While I was walking Wren I managed to fall over on some uneven ground and have either twisted or sprained my ankle and it flippin' well hurts! I think if it weren't held together with a couple of plates and a lot of screws it would have broken this morning so I'm very grateful as always to the surgeon who did such a fab job of knitting me back together the last time I fell over walking a dog - Layla in that case. Wren was beautifully behaved and came back to me while I was unable to get up and a couple of lovely chaps offered help so I wasn't in distress but goodness it infuriates me that my plans are kiboshed for a day or two at least. I've taken parrrots, rubbed some ibuprofen gel on the ankle (I can't take the pills because ulcers) and am resting it, elevated on a footstool on the bed. A small tortoiseshell cat is hiding in the tent created by the footstool and loving it, Wren is keeping me company and Belovéd strapped the ankle up and has kept me fed and watered. I've a lot to be grateful for but I just want to get on and get stuff done!

Went to visit my poorly friend today - she wasn't up but I chatted to her hubby abd was pleased to hear she is making progress, albeit slowly. Then I did errands in town, knocked off a Toots job - taking clock for repair. Also dropped by CS for a flingitty fling from bith vol job and here. But that wiped me out, however I have bought mulitivitamins with iron so watch this space. been to outswim cancer and had half a pool to myself for the last 15 minutes - bliss. Vol job tea towels line dried and brought in before it rained. Swim stuff in wm and dw is oaded. Off to feed a kitten in steel city in the morning

Been catching up as I've been away for a few days - too many to comment individually but hugs to all.
We had a fairly successful weekend; Mum was on good form for her 95th on Sunday, happy to be taken out and DB, SIL, Mr N, Mum and I sat outside a coastal cafe enjoying coffee, lunch and watching the starlings. Later back at the care home, chef had made a lovely birthday cake. Then had 2 days visiting BIL (Mon), old school friend (Tues am) and stepsis (Tues pm). Wed I took Mum for her hospital checkup, not really as I expected but seems she returns for next checkup in 6 weeks, having declined operation to put a pin in her fractured shoulder. Came home last night.
Today:
- re charged car
- one load through WM, hung out and brought in before rain
- greenhouse checked and watered. first of plum tomatoes picked, also more flying saucer squash, climbing French beans and spinach.
- went to aqua zumba
- went to drumming lesson
- went to Mr T
- caught up with several emails and messages.
- Mr N had yet another chat with utility company to find out why the meter isn't working and/or we haven't had a leccy bill since June. More 'we will look into it' and 'I've registered you on the system' etc.
- sat and read the plans as a bit of formerly-council land has put in for permission to build 2 semi-detached houses opposite us. A yellow notice had gone up outside it but our neighbour saw a man pull up in a car and pull the notice down…….maybe the landowner who didn't want any objections? Seems a ridiculously small piece of land to put 2 3/4-bedroomed houses on but what do I know? At least they are being planned with solar panels, heat pump and EV charging point. There were so many typos in the planning proposal it irritated me no end - doesn't anyone proof read, it's a professional document for goodness sake….but I don't think I can lodge a complaint for poor English/typing.
Tomorrow is my "day off" with no gym classes so I usually try and catch up on flying etc. Let's hope so.

Ankle better this morning, still aches but not really painful, and as I'd booked the car in for its MOT I shoved Wren in the back and drove round there, dropped the keys off as they were opening and walked Wren back. She was a little bit tricky, but we got home after a few negotiations about the route. I'll go back and pick it up when they ring later. We've got a month if repairs are needed but I really hope it just passes, has a service and get it all over and done with in one hit.
In the meantime, I'm back at the desk filleting files and clearing a huge admin backlog, and the scaffolders are getting on nicely to fix the chimneys. Noisy, but this lot aren't blaring a radio out and constant sweary shouting like the last lot. Progress.

Hello all.
This morning I've walked Poppet in the rain, done a work shift, checked banking, taken delivery of the new freezer and one of Poppets beds is in WM. Off to get my hair cut and run some errands, then back for more paid stuff.
Spend less now, work less later.8 -
I won't be picking the car up any time soon, apparently. £££ will have to be decluttered at some point next week. In the meantime, we'll be walking everywhere.
I am decluttering a bar of Lindt Orange and Almond chocolate I have just found in the cupboard.

Sorry to hear about the car, HB. IMHO decluttering a whole bar of chocolate is the obvious answer to dulling the immediate pain. I hope it has also helped your poor ankle - what bad luck, when you had worked so hard to get fit again after the op. Please take it easy for a few days!
Narc0, how lovely that your Mum was on good form for her birthday celebrations. Lovely memories to hold onto - and I'm sure you will have taken photos too (not asking you to publish them on the forum, for obvious reasons).
Having cleaned through the whole house yesterday, I have been very tired today, but I have managed to
- get up early and drive DD to within about 200yd of the care home to which her father has been moved, so that she didn't have to waste time on trains and buses but we could enjoy more conversation;
- do a big shop at MrAl and buy some frozen fruit on offer at MrFF;
- sleep for a couple of hours, I think;
- write a reference for one of DH's Welsh cousins re a voluntary job;
- have a long conversation with friend J (not J the gardener) about the children making bread rolls and a picture for the church Harvest Festival;
- microwave the last box of cooked mince in the FF and cook some pasta so that DD didn't go hungry to his war games;
- make butter icing and decorate the sponge sandwich for tomorrow;
- do WMx4;
- give Rosie some well-deserved attention.
I need to write another email before I forget.
Hope everyone has a good, restful, pain-free weekend xxx

Morning all xx
The gardener said he was coming at 9 this morning to trim the conifers and he would need access to electricity. I am, therefore, not only up, but also dressed. Don't want to frighten the poor man! 😳
I've made my bed, turned over the calendars, taken my meds, and made a brew, which is going down nicely.
I started the adjusted dosage of thyroid meds last Saturday and I do believe I'm feeling a little more like myself. 🤞 it's not a delusion. Blood test is booked for 5th October, and new prescription is ready for collection (so I won't have to resort to pill cutting 😉). Not heard anything about the RAI treatment but we'll deal with that when they get in touch. Royal we 🤣.
The down side of feeling better is that I'm more aware of what a tip this house is. When I'm feeling bleurgh I see it and meh! Not important. Today I'm feeling inclined to MAD. So maybe it's an up side and not a down side 🤔
Does anyone else have horizontal surfaces which accumulate 'stuff' while you're not looking? I do still have floor though - that's a good start. But where to actually start? 🤔 😳.
Methinks another brew will fire up a few synapses and we can come up with a plan.
Much love and healing vibes to all.

The gardener has arrived and been plugged in.
I've put out the recycling, fed the birds, filled the birdbath, added water to vases, removed a dead rose from a vase - the rest of my birthday flowers and Flylady flowers are still going strong 🥰, watered houseplants, put pots to soak, and made a brew.
