If you get no joy through S75, ask your local bike shop if they can rebuild the wheels. A competent bike mechanic will be able to build wheels from scratch so it will just be a matter of selecting the right spokes for the hub and rim, and using an appropriate lacing pattern.

Sadly, £340 for a folding bike is towards the bottom end of the quality range. It's what bike shops might call a BSO - a Bicycle Shaped Object. For that price it's been assembled in a rush and from poor quality materials. I suspect it would be fine for occasional leisure use but for 30 minutes a day in all weathers it probably isn't going to last long.

My partner purchased a bike from their online website In Novemeber 2025 it was a christmas present, within 6 months it developed a defect and after some back and forth and help from my local bike shop.

Raleigh agreed to take it back and give me a refund, but then they announced the company was going under and filed for insolvency??, I can not get in touch with anyone since and I am owe £340. Paypal who it was bought through said they cant do anything after 180 days I've no idea where to go or what to do next

@JGB1955 I did mention this earlier in replying to some one but to me it's not clear if the OP has sent the bike to Raleigh or not as all the say is "they agreed to take it back" but OP never said that it was collected.

If it was a pay in 3 BNPL option, then given this was purchased before July 26 (Nov 25), there would be no S75 cover 🤷‍♀️

Only option would be to go via administrator as a creditor & hope for pennies in the pound back.

She paid via normal paypal credit where I assume Paypal pay Raleigh and then we was paying Paypal so much a month, it wasnt anything like pay off in 3 etc it was one where if she choose PP Credit she would save £50 but just pay monthly for it.

She rang them and they said they couldn't help it was passed the 180 days

I replied to the other person but it wasn't a Pay in 4 thing it was a normal PPC plan where if she choose it she would save £50 off the purchase but pay so much a month so I assume they pay Raleigh and we just pay paypal like a credit card
