Inbound flight cancellation but no compensation for outbound leg

Back in June, I bought flights from Stansted to carcadonne from Ryanair. The outbound and inbound legs were bought separately on different booking confirmations within 1 hours of each other.

The inbound leg Carcasonne to London has just been cancelled, but the outbound leg has not. Reason given is ‘airport closure’ which is isn’t true… it’s most likely the change over from summer to winter timetables which means planes need to be moved …

The Alternative flights offered mean I’m in Carcasonne for 24 hours or over 2 weeks, so are not acceptable to me.

Ryanair are refusing to refund the outbound leg saying it’s still taking place, so no refund due and as it was a different booking reference.

I’m at a loss what to do, I’ve formally complained and just keep getting the same answer. Any advice ?

    They are two separate bookings so Ryanair are absolutely correct.

    No alternative flights from Toulouse or Montpellier?

    If the flight was on 26/27 Sept the airport will have disruption as thats when the air show is on and they have actually binned the flights that day/.

    And there is defo something going on there in November as you cant book a single Ryanair flight out of Carcassonne between the 1st November and the 13th December, to anywhere at all. And they are the only commercial airline who use the airport.

    They serve quite a cluster of airports around there (Beziers, Toulouse, Perpignan), are any of the others any good to return from?

    @Nuccio27 Ryanair are correct.

    You didn't have outbound and inbound legs, you had two separate flight bookings.

    Forget any further contact with them and look for alternatives.
