Best Approach for this Patio mess!

I keep the old patio slabs, as they have character. I'd plant long flowering small floors like Erigeron. For any missing tiles I'd fill in with stones. Zero need to spend out too much. It will have far more character if you use what you have or are resourceful.

My concern about the red bricks is the trip hazard they may pose, particularly in the dark.

@StewedApple - even a lazy moo like me can see the benefit of hanging onto a pressure washer!

My first attempt at cleaning the patio with the pressure washer wasn’t very successful. I used my Karcher and all the available attachments, including the patio cleaner attachment. I’m going to get a wire-bristle broom and give it another go, so hopefully that will help next time. Thanks!

I know you said you tried all the attachments but did you have a good go with the cone shaped Karcher attachment with the ball bearing in it?

I’ve found that will strip off almost anything (including any loose mortar). It should certainly deal with the moss.

I was expecting the cone-shaped Kärcher attachment to do a better job, but it didn’t. I’ll need to check whether there’s something wrong with the attachment, especially since I haven’t used it in a long time.

That said, I think the wire broom from Amazon actually did a better job, and I’m happy with the result.

As a next step, I can give the Kärcher another go and see if it performs better. Thanks

Does the cone shaped attachment rattle when you shake it ??

If not it could be faulty.

My pressure washer with that attachment would make very short work of cleaning your patio.

My karcher patio part has 2 nozzles on an arm that rotate when the button is pressed on the lance.

Sometimes it gets clogged with debris and won't spin.

I get somebody to raise the patio/lance and start it and then I , at a safe distance look to see if it rotates and not get wet.

Maybe you could try that.

What you’re describing is, I believe, called a T racer.

They’re great for cleaning a moderately dirty surface without spraying muck and water everywhere, but I think the OP said they had tried that one. It’s shown in the first pic at least.

The cone shaped nozzle gives a very much stronger focused blast, especially close up to surfaces (a couple of inches away).

I think most Karcher patio cleaners have the t racer bars underneath.

In the link is photo of what I was trying to explain and to check if it's working ok because I havyused mine on other patios that are the same if not worse that the OP.

If the OP patio cleaner is broke they do t-racer bar spares but not sure what model OP has.

have you tried using a bleach solution on them? Sodium hypochlorite specifically?
