Help!! Bailiffs just called regarding PCN

Hi all. My sister just had a phone call from Bailiffs regarding a PCN she received in November. The problem is, it was the week she moved out of her flat and she was already gone once the letter had been sent. She stayed at our mums for a few weeks before she moved into her new place, and then changed her V5c and her driving license address once she had moved in. She had no idea she’d received the PCN and they’ve been sending letters for months!! They were really threatening over the phone and she’s pretty shaken up - saying they’ll need to clamp her car, get the police and courts involved etc. Does she have any way out or should she just pay the amount ? Thanks in advance

For a single PCN issued in November it would be highly unlikely that they will be clamping her car or getting the police involved.

Does she know who rang her? Who is the parking company involved?

The bailiffs. Apparently we’re saying they were tracking her or something ? All sounds a bit dodgy. I’ve been through this before and went all the way to court so I know how they operate.

I think you actually need to ask her who it was. There is no company or entity called "the bailiffs".

Also your post makes no sense. No bailiffs would even be appointed until it goes through the court system. I suspect she has had a call from a faceless, powerless debt collection agency acting on behalf of a private parking operator.

Just spoke with her and she said it was Marston Recovery who phoned her. Sorry I meant to upload these files to my original post.

As this is a PCN I would advise your sister (not you) to post over FTLA forum as they are the experts in PCNs. Before she does that she needs to reed the “read me first” thread, they can get pretty shirty if you don’t.
