I also have the Jabra 510 mentioned above, bought secondhand. Looks like they're currently about £25 on eBay

The Jabra device (or similar) might well be the optimal option when considering sound quality but it's a wired device.
Does the OP's setup of a mini PC under a TV have the necessary USB port and is the cable run between device and PC safe and convienient?

Many thanks, James, and YBR and Vitor - took a punt on an eBay Jabra without asking MIL first… 😁
You know you'll be blamed if it don't perform…
She can use the spacebar as a PTT apparently, so it sounds the ideal solution.

A traditional bluetooth mic generally is 0.1 to 0.2 seconds lag, generally people can see a lag of 0.125 seconds
Where things get worse is if you are using bluetooth speakers (eg singing to a backing track) where you have a delaying hearing and then a delay being heared.
Note that some things like the Dji mic can work both with its dongle and bluetooth, using its dongle you get a lag of 0.01-0.02 seconds but switch to bluetooth and you are back to normal rates.
For pre-recorded stuff its not too much of a problem, can be fixed in post. For life stuff it really depends on what you are doing. Just chatting to people then bluetooth is fine, may be a fraction of a second out to the video but thousands of meetings happen every day with the same effect and it never stops anything. If you were doing music or something where you need multiple sources to by in sync with each other then thats where bluetooth becomes problematic.1 -
Pretty sure it's Bluetooth - the USB cable is for charging.
Eek! Will check!
Phew - it's wireless/BT.

There are different models - I have the wired version (2 off) but the one quoted by PP is the model with wireless option, which a colleague has.

Very good call on the Jabra, thank you 😊
Working really well - easy to use, and very good sound quality.
