Is my vodafone router working properly? fttp 500mbps

It does sound like there is something wrong with the WiFi, maybe congestion from neighbours on the bands you are using, or a poor router. I'm sitting on the other side of my lounge to my Eero 7 router and the Ookla speed test app on my phone is reporting 768Mb on 5GHz and 140Mb on 2.4GHz.
Can you put your old router into WiFi access point mode and connect that to your new router and see how it compares?

Thanks Rob.
Previous router was not compatible according to google and had to be returned.
The hub is 5 m from where the old one was so it is a bit nearer the neighbours but part of my testing has been to move the new router to the site of the old one using a longer ethernet cable. it made no difference.
Vodafone have put a more technical person onto the case, but they still want me to go into compatibilty mode under which there would be 2 bands and devices would choose presumably depending on where they were in the house. i believe this should not be necessary0 -
What speeds are you getting to the Vodafone hub itself, either as reported by the hub or via an ethernet connected device? Until you've confirmed that you're getting the circa 500Mbps to the hub any discussion of wifi is pointless.
