Green energy levy change on billd

You have given us no useful facts, without facts we cannot verify and explain.
You may be for example comparing ex. VAT headline rates with inc. VAT billed rates, you may have got confused, you may be missing something. If you posted screenshots of the rates pre and post change, as well as the tariff information pre and post change we could almost certainly explain. Without that we have no useful information to work with.

OP doesn't understand why their tariff changed. OP hasn't shared details of the changes, only their opinions on them.
OP is unable to understand Octopus's explanation. OP hasn't shared Octopus's explanation, only their opinion of it.
Our ability to assist with either of these points is somewhat hindered by this reluctance to share necessary information.
There's a similar reluctance to share information in the OP's other thread concerning their electricity meter. In that particular case, sharing the information isn't going to speed up resolution (it needs Octopus to do things) but would help the OP understand what's going on.
In the case of this thread, there are two possibilities:
- Octopus is charging the OP correctly. Octopus believe this to be true.
- Octopus is charging the OP incorrectly. The OP believes this to be true.
Sharing details of the tariff rates before and after the April changes would let us see for ourselves which of these situations applies. We could then provide relevant advice to the OP per the last sentence of their opening post.
As it stands, though, we're well into the third page of this thread and have hardly moved on from the opening post. The only progress is that the OP has told us they're on a fixed tariff.

and so it is the absolute right of others above to say "we cannot explain it".
the OP in one post iirc has said Octopus at one stage admitted it was wrong, and was looking into it.
Iif so, and they havent fixed it, they should take that admission via complaint escalation to the ombudsman.
assuming that is the op would be wiling to divulge the information to the ombudsman.

But I think disclosing information in private & confidence to the EO
(where only the EO and Octopus Energy can see it) is something rather
different than posting that information on a publicly viewable internet
forum for all to see. There is nothing personal about the information being requested and it is the bare minimum if there is a genuine desire to seek an answer that either supports or refutes their stated issue.
There is little point in even posting here if there is no genuine interest in getting informed opinions, and no way to give an informed opinion without information…

folks, this wasn’t meant to trigger off an internal feud. I do think I’ve provided enough information here and on my other post.
The question(s) were just whether others have had similar experiences with Octopus.
thanks again for inputs and comments. I am already in the process of bringing this to the ombudsman. These are facts which I have disclosed in the threads, not opinions. And yes, on a public forum I think I have disclosed enough. My main issue has been Octopus’s handling of the matters, which is not consistent with their usual form. Everything I have described has been recognised as true/factual but it’s their response and inaction which surprised me.
If anyone else has had similar experiences please do let me know. Otherwise, the nitty gritty of my bills and meter can just be left aside.
Thanks again and I appreciate it.

@grbren it would be nice if you share your outcome with the ombudsman when this is resolved.
