Bossymoo … wow… that's a blast from the past. not ASB (formerly ATB) as she wouldn't have been in WAY - ASB would be in the same club as me. (Gingerbread, had I bothered to join)
Been to the vol job. Rang hosp for an appointment and GOT ONE FOR THE SAME DAY - TODAY! I asked for 4pm or after as parking is easier (ie there is some and I can find it) so I have been. Nothing sinister. Just some physio. More stuff brought for craft stall and sorted. I will be like a mini scrap store… you name the craft - I will likely have something!
Tea towels brought home to wash.
Sending love/gws vibes to Honeybear and Beloved from Valliland.
Although we have had heavy rain there is more needed

Yes Jazee and Valli, the missing name was Bossymoo - many thanks for decluttering one more niggle from my grasshopper brain!
I have done very little this evening except cook a risotto, wash up the baking stuff from making scones for J (we tested them too and they were very light and scrumptious), and then talk to my 13yo goddaughter about where she wants to go on Friday for a very belated birthday treat. She is turning into a non-communicative teenager! but I hope she enjoys at least some of the things I've researched. DH will stay at home to look after Rosie, who will get her usual Friday walk with L.
G'night all xxx

Morning everyone, just popping my head in to say I am still here :D Although you've probably gathered that as I;m posting the lists up each night…lol
Eeek it's absolutely piddling down outside at the moment - 3rd day in the row now - while there is a blue sky to the right of me…explain that one..lol
I feel bad about not posting regularly like some of you do - I'm very sporadic with my posting for some reason especially when you consider that I used to post a heck of a lot many moons ago..lol The only time I seem to post at the moment is when something seems to happen to us or is happening..and that's not a good thing really is it?
I have been quiet unfortunately as I am doing a lot of sleeping, fighting off this lung infection that is taking it's time to go away (it's now been 8 months!), although it is starting to show signs of a big change thankfully. Although now I am left with either a cracked rib or a pulled muscle due to the strength of coughing in the recent days..and that is plain agony for me at the moment. In the scheme of things this is quite minor compared to what others on here are going through, maybe that's why I've been quiet as all I seem to have to post is I'm in pain and still ill.
Haven't done much flying really - I grab what I can when my body lets me at the moment, but then I pay for it afterwards sadly. I do spend a fair bit of time apologising to DH about not being able to do much and how bad the house gets now and again. I do have a mad half hour now and again when I put the house in order but as I said earlier I do pay for it afterwards, but I feel I have to do it to appease DH especially when I know he does a fair bit and he's not well himself for 4 days out of seven every week :(
I do read, please don't think I don't read the thread, as I'm silently cheering on everyone that needs it, and hugging those that need them too.. My heartalso goes out to those that are going through bad stuff too..
Yikes it's time for me to get read for my yet another dr's appointment to tweak more medicine.. I may even get the results from what is going on with those horrible mucus plugs that have been looked at..fingers crossed!!!
Happy flying everyone, huge hugs to those that need them xxx

Morning all. I hope things improve for you soon Natty.
I have just had a warm fruit scone for breakfast as I read Iona's post this morning and couldn't resist making some. I made five large ones so still four to be devoured but I am sure DH will help.
I am pootling today so still in pjs. Other than dailies and dog walk I will be reading more of DHs book to see if final edits are required.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,
Lovely to see you as always, Natty.
Today’s list was on point for me - the LR was a RoD until a few weeks ago when we had it gutted and replastered etc. Since then, I have used various excuses to skip the LR list - twot, it’s “just” been decorated etc etc. Today was the day to deal with the visible dust. Dusted, vacuumed, moved furniture - some of it, I didn’t like to over achieve. I was going to attack the hall and landing, then remembered that the boiler service is happening tomorrow so the plumber will be up and down the stairs. I didn’t want to waste my time, so I have left that job 😉. I have stripped DD’s bedding and will wash it in the morning. Debating whether to wash her duvet in the bath, given that she has taken the decent newish one and left me with her older one. Of course, I could have done this job when it was hot and sunny…

Morning all
I have washed half the tea towels I brought from the vol job; rain is forecast so don't know whether they'll get a blow - they certainly won't get a tumble.
I'm planning on sorting stall stuff today and I might clean somewhere.
Nice to see you Nattty - hope the improvement continues.

Morning all. Lovely to see you, Natty x
I have dusted and swept through downstairs, except for DH's bedroom which is full of his stuff. He claimed to have tidied it yesterday, but when I went in there an hour ago, taking his folded t-shirts and a shirt, the first things I saw were an empty pop bottle on the floor and a box full of old magazines, so I withdrew immediately. It's not as if he doesn't know where the bins are kept, and I have enough to keep me occupied without having to clear his detritus.
Another thing to add to yesterday's list of achievements - I switched my gas and electricity provider as per the MSE recommendations.
Today I must order DD's 50th birthday gift and do some shredding - but first it's cuppa time! Anyone care to join me?

Me again. Got soaked to the skin walking Poppet so I'm now back in pjs.
From the list DH has taken down the hall curtain, cleaned the rail, washed and dried said curtain and put it back.

Creeps back in….
Iona I was thinking of Sparkly Blond too as I have a feeling she was embarking on a new relationship. I'm a bit paranoid that many of the flyladies I have met irl or had on my Secret Santa list seem to disappear……so well done you for having (confession time) both met me and received a SS in the last decade.
I've been lurking a bit but not posting as life sort of takes over and I won't bore everyone by summarising the last couple of weeks, other than things people have kindly posted about.
- London break for Mr N's birthday was mostly very good….slight glitch of a fire alarm in our rented flat at 4am on our first night; we piled out not in a particular panic but I still managed to misjudge the bottom step of the front entrance and went splat, sadly 10 mins before 6 fire engines and strong men/women turned up. Bit of a graze and a very sore foot, so walking activities (we stayed near Hyde Park) were slower than usual (heatwave also affected speed of mobility!). However I've carefully gone back to zumba this week.
- At present we do not have any imminent funerals. The one 'outstanding' late friend requested unattended cremation; his wife and son have invited any friends to think of him at 5pm next Thurs while listening to Dire Straits 'Sultans of Swing' as he will be carried into the crem at that time. He will be our 10th friend/family to depart since last Oct. We've had a few issues with Mum recently but she seems to have rallied and DB and I have been planning a small celebration outing for her 95th at the beginning of September. I'm frightened now I've put that in writing.
- Garden shed is up and fully painted. New shelving arrived this week and we are gradually organising it so we won't have to climb over 'stuff' to get the lawn mower out.
Today is my 'pull yourself together and get some flying done day'; I have no appointments and Mr N is at the gym. What works for me is Narco's rule of 3 (hereafter NR3); every time I go into a room, I have to improve it in at least 3 ways e.g. put away 3 items etc. So, having put WM on when I went down to breakfast and plugged the car in to charge, I started NR3 when I went back up to brush my teeth.
- en suite: put away 2 items which don't live on window sill. Sprayed and wiped windowsill. Folded a now dry bath towel and put it back on the rack.
- bedroom: sorted out library books (which were randomly scattered on the floor). Checked small backpack I'd used in London to make sure nothing in it was needed imminently, put it away. Put away a couple of pairs of shoes and garments. Actually put a few stitches in a favourite bra, whose underwiring was trying to escape. Especially proud of that as it's usually the sort of thing which would usually languish on the dressing table waiting for the motivation to do it.
- Kitchen: took washing out of machine, hung it out. WUDUPA. Sorted 3 punnets of fruit which were sitting in a box as I got a L1dl £2 box last week. They went into the lounge - actually all I did in there was bring the fruit bowl back into the kitchen and washed it. Put recycling into appropriate box. Took empty fruit punnets to:
- greenhouse: checked and watered as required. Planted out a grand total of 3 leeks which I'd grown on in the greenhouse as the ground was too hard to plant them. We've had a bit of rain overnight but nowhere near enough. Can checked and watered count as 2 things?
Anyway you're probably all asleep by now but it helps me to write it down. I'm now (obviously) at the computer with a coffee but I have deleted about 20 unwanted emails (still trying to cull inbox), added an activity to my to-do notepad and I'm about to do a bit of drum practice which has been sadly scant recently. As an aside, my neighbour is learning guitar and I hear her (quietly and unobtrusively) practising frequently which makes me feel guilty. In my defence, it's easier to pick up a guitar for 5 mins if it's in the lounge compared with coming upstairs, plugging the drums in etc. Over and out.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.7
