If the property is being sold, consider switching to a tariff with a low SC. I know Octopus offer one.

The current rate is 26.42 p/kWh, standing charge 49.70 p/day.

I looked on USwitch, the best offer without early exit fees was 100Green… 24.82 p/kWh and 49.697 p/day standing charge.

Seems hardly worth it, at the moment, on average the flat is using less than 2 kWh per day.

From what I've read, those suppliers lock you in for at least a year.

Have you factored in the enticements you can get from switching such as £25-£50 when moving supplier into your equations?

They normally come with exit fees, which is a no go under the circumstances

Does joining octopus on their £50 referral programme mean only exit fee tariffs apply?

Finally got the latest bill although it only goes up to 13th June. Will submit a reading (if I can figure out which one) next week when I get back off holiday to get a more up to date bill. Still have over £550 credit so shouldn't be a problem.

Well, it all seems to be back on track now, last bill on 14th Sept. Still have nearly £500 in credit.
