their cs agents have said for YEARS that they are working on an app - still nothing.

After logging on (mobile phone) to Cahoot with username and password, I am sent a 'one time password' via text.
When I copy this password, it does not re-appear when I paste. It does not stay visible long enough to copy manually.
Please advise.

I just flip back and forth between the SMS screen and the browser and input manually.
As you have discovered, it does not allow you to copy and paste (at least not on my android phone)

On iPhone, if you are a little patient, it autopastes. Sometimes it doesn't work first time, though, so I then request another OTP, which has always worked so far.

I try flipping back to the text screen, but on return to the Cahoot screen, it goes back to the login start. I have a circular problem!

At least Cahoot with no app is not all bad news. When you log in on a tablet, some banks (e.g. Santander) sometimes ask you to open the app to confirm log in or transaction. No such chance with Cahoot.

I have accounts with both Santander and Cahoot.
Both I access only via a web-browser on either a laptop or desktop pc.
With Cahoot, I always need a text to log in
With Santander, once set up, I didn't need a text to log in, but did to pay a new payee. Lately, I seem to need a text to log into Santander too; I'm not sure if they have improved security recently? Or maybe I'd updated the web browser between logins recently?
As the texts are received on a mobile, I simply manually transcribe them when I receive them.
I have never been asked to open the Santander app.

What do you mean, the text does not stay visible long enough to copy manually?
The text stays visible on my phone until I actively delete it.
The texted code is only valid for a few minutes I believe, but usually plenty long enough to receive it, open it, and copy it to the respective website. (and even to double check it if I've copied it incorrectly)

If you are using an iPhone, try accessing Cahoot via Chrome instead of using Safari.
I have found that Chrome is better at identifying the code, allowing you to enter it with one click.
