I taxed it literally the night we bought it, so will still have been insured at that point - although not in our name.
I've not any warning letter so I'll evidently be just fine.
No offence, but it's a very peculiar trait of this forum that a very specific question can turn into something completely different.

The MIB and DVLA just run a periodic check of if any vehicle that isnt sorned has insurance in the MID. They dont do any more advance checks like if the names match etc as legitimately the registered keeper and insured may not be the same entity.
Being a member of several forums, its not unique to this one in my experience, and is probably the natural result of asking a thousand strangers to comment on something that some will go down various rabbit holes… theres no obligation to go down the rabbit hole with them but for some the rabbit holes can be interesting.0 -
And many can't help looking for rabbit holes.
I wish more just stuck to the point, the forums would improve massively.
