  • Ah, I see. In my case because I have a Virgin Media cable modem (aka Hub 3) I don't have a micro-filter, hence no RJ11 < - > RJ11.

    Not sure what type of cable I had, but although the instructions said the cable going into my PN router could just be plugged into my Zen router, it did not work. Luckily Zen had provided an adapter so I used that, and it worked. Eventually, after a bit of trial and error.

    There is no way on earth my mother could have dealt with that. She could not have done her password reset on her devices (or the router). I had to move handsets around because the one next to her bed was a cabled-in version.

    As @flaneurs_lobster pointed out earlier in this thread, for some people this is just overwhelming and some compassion for them, rather than insult at their stupidity, goes a long way.
