Rejecting / Returning a car on HP after 6 months.

Just about all those issues are wear and tear on an 11 year old car no matter what price you paid.
As for the service history, especially the cambelt, why wasn't that queried at the time of purchase?
Tyres crack with age, that's a fact.
Brake discs and pads are down to you as are the worn shock absorbers, those don't fail overnight.
I reckon you are banging your head against a wall trying to get any redress with a car of that age that she didn't inspect sufficiently.
Sounds like buyer's remorse and that she bought a vehicle that was unaffordable.2 -
£2000 for a finance agreement on £6000, they saw you coming.

Vocational freedom has arrived1 -
The service book suggests the change at 90k , it was sold with about 89,200 miles so technically didn't need it, however not mentioned at sale .
I was not involved with SO until 6 months of ownership . However Glow plugs and MAP sensor errors appeared with very very little use, literally under 50 miles, so not wear and tear .. Car was a learner vehicle for first 6 months , with less than 5-10 miles per week. My girlfriend did verbally complain and ask for another vehicle but dealer insisted to keep it .

IKR I wasn't involved until 6 months in, car can be had for 3K on private market .

Did your girlfriend ask about the cambelt change?
It was not overdue, as you admit.
I don’t think the dealer is obliged to offer information but must reply truthfully, if asked.
The. glow plugs and MAF sensor were replaced by the dealer so that complaint is dealt with. That would have been the time to raise questions, not months after they have been changed by the dealer.
Your girlfriend didn’t buy a new car, she bought one 11 years old. It was never going to be perfect.

No this was only flagged after I got involved and insisted on an independent garage to inspect it due to brakes being worn (despite very little usage)
She did however ask to return and change the car informally via messaging after both 1st and 2nd faults.
unfortunately I wasnt with the owner until the 6th month, however I would expect better . I would like to make it clear, the car was used once a week for driving lessons.. So wear and tear should be minimal .. Not expecting several trips to garages for major work ..

All those issues are pretty normal on an old used car.
You won't get anywhere in rejecting the vehicle but I'm sure you'll be back in a few weeks saying you got all your money back
The independent garage are there to make money so will give you the worst case scenario.
As said above, sounds like Buyers remorse.

On a side note, driving a diesel car 5-10 miles per week is asking for trouble.

As above. An 11 year old car is getting to end of life. If it hasn't had repairs before sale it will need repairs at some point and due diligence when buying is key to lnow what may be required.
Brakes, tyres, suspension, cambelt etc all expected costs on a vehicle of that age.

£6k + £2k finance for an 11yo Juke suggests it was being punted out by one of these "bad credit" outfits.
As the others have said - nothing you've listed is anything but fair wear and tear on an 11yo car.
Things that are blatantly apparent to any reasonably clued-up layman, such as tyres and maintenance history, including whether the cambelt's been done, along with ULEZ compliance are basic pre-purchase due diligence.
The cambelt interval is 90k miles OR SIX YEARS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. So an 11yo car with 90k on it is going to need one either IMMEDIATELY or quite soon, depending on whether it was done on schedule at 6yo.
DPF blockage after a year, and you want to pin this on the vendor…?
Sorry, but this is all the cost of buying an overpriced car from a shonky vendor, and then driving a decade-old car…1
