Restoring Backed-up Outlook Express .dbx Folders

I backed up all my Outlook Express 6 folders and then restored my system, but I am having trouble restoring the folders.
From the main OE6 window, I click File > Import > Messages, but then I get options to import from various programs like Outlook or OE4 or OE5. Isn't there a way to restore the messages from the .dbx files on my CD-Rw?
Any help much appreciated

setup your email account in OE then go to tools > options > maintenance > store folder and find out which directory your dbx files are stored in. Close OE and copy your dbx's into that folder.
Re-open OE, nip down to Bargain Boozer, buy me a crate of Carling Premier and stick them in the post to me for being a genius0 -
Tried that but I need to do some fiddling and create the "new" and empty folders in OE first, then substitute the empty dbx files with my old ones. Simply copying them doesn't create new folders in OE but thanks for the tip.
P.S: What's your address (for the Carling)?0 -
Copy them off the CD, unset the read-only flag in explorer on the .dbx files and try again.... at least I think that was the issue the last time I did any import from a CD-RThere are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0 -
