Amazon Barclaycard
first time posting so hope this is the right place. I wanted to transfer a balance from the Amazon Barclaycard to a new 0% card. The new one said it wasn’t possible from Amazon Barclaycard. I contacted them via live chat and the confirm they don’t allow balance transfers out. How can this be right???

Each card issuer will have their own rules and restrictions on which other cards it will accept a balance transfer from. It's far from universal.
Did you check on eligibility before applying for the new card/attempting the transfer?

Who is the new card with?

Apparently this is a common issue - credit cards are under no obligation to allow a balance transfer and it will be buried in their terms and conditions somewhere.
From a quick google, some people appear to have had success using NatWest, so you could try speaking to them. Alternatively what about a 0% money transfer card, and then you can just pay off the Amazon balance?

Have Barclaycard said that a balance transfer from their card is not possible?
Bit odd, in actuality a balance transfer is just a payment to the donor card of the total card balance in order to clear the account, with an equal debit against the new card.

Unfortunately, it can be right. Some credit card providers restrict balance transfers either in or out, depending on their terms and systems. It's frustrating, especially if you took out the card expecting to be able to move the balance later.
It might be worth checking whether the new card specifically excludes Amazon Barclaycard accounts, or whether Barclaycard is refusing the transfer from their side. If balance transfers aren't allowed from that account, your options may be limited to paying it down directly or looking at other ways to reduce the interest.
Hopefully someone who's had the Amazon Barclaycard can share their experience too.

If Amazon/Barclaycard restrict balance transfers from their card then I can't see where this is stipulated in the T&Cs.

I have just BT'd between different cards and the old card simply shows the transfer as "Payment received"
