Morning, thanks Gers.
It's warmish here but it's rained! Proper rain, not the dribbles we've had recently. Hope there's more on the way.
I don't have much planned today except tidying and ironing.
Hope everyone is all right, haven't heard from Silver -Oldie for a while.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS for kicking off. Back home yesterday so it's fumble fingers no more and back on my trusty laptop. I do wish they would get up to date over there as regards wifi. I have been saying that for about 16 years!
It's a bit of a gloomy start and apparently there's chance of thunderstorms later. It still feels very warm and muggy so I feel they could be right. I got all my washing done once home and that's now sitting in the ironing basket. No rush for most of it as it's caravan stuff.
I am expecting a grocery delivery this morning at some point. It started off as a top up shop to keep me going until the w/e but I have followed YL's lead and added some extra tins and packets for the store cupboard as I seem to have ransacked it over the summer and it's looking a bit depleted. I am awaiting a text telling me if I have any oos items.
YL I have been watching the Sewing Bee but, as yet, it hasn't spurred me on to drag out my sewing machine! There are some really talented sewers this time and it's hard to pick out a winner at this stage but I do have my favourite!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Thinking of our MIA too. Take care all be safe x

There was a huge downpour overnight and the sky is getting darker this morning.
Yesterday was for financial spreadsheets, monthly and weekly, to keep me busy and entertained. The chap up the hill and his wife dropped in with a bunch of fabulous sweet peas and his home made stalker pie, so lovely of them. It's been a while since we caught up so that was good too, The plaster across two half walls is slowly drying out, I've had the front door open all day with the back door open a crack. My closest friend sent me a very small teddy bear with a 'get well soon' hot water bottle 😂 so he's on top of the small sofa next to my late DM's beloved Max. I'm being invaded!
Today the excitement will be the arrival of a very much unwanted Apple Watch, I've resisted for so long and against strong encouraging from family. Now I have to admit defeat as one of the hospital consultants heavily advised to have one…so, more tech to sort out later.
Watching any of the 'great British' programmes never inspire me to take up the activity, whether it's magical makes of cakes, clothes, menus I can only admire the skill, nothing stirs in me to do it.
Today I'll be hanging about and binge watching 'Young Sherlock' until delivery time. Take care all.

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet we have had proper rain as well I think it has to ease off as the day goes on . Off out to a cleaning job in a minute then I need a bit of shopping well some tomatoes and a lettuce but that’s it still using what’s in the freezer. Gers I’m another that watchers these programs but never feel inclined to have a go good luck with the watch I’ve had a Fitbit for years I only look at the time it’s to much of a faff to get my glasses out all the time to see what it’s doing apparently you can do all sorts on it I’m not technically minded at all it’s wasted on me . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Good morning
It's a dull start here, but with temperatures due to rise to 28degs. Yesterday reached 30 and was so humid until the evening when a very welcome breeze arrived. Today we're promised showers around 4pm, but we'll see.
Yesterday I had a tidy of the freezer, made an inventory and was amazed to find out there's enough meat and fish in there for the rest of the month. Will that stop me buying, of course not, but I'll try to keep to ys bargains.
There's pork left over from last night, so that'll form the basis of tonight's tea. I really fancy a curry, so maybe pork curry will make a change from the usual chicken.
Nothing else planned, only the usual chores, so will wish everyone a good day, take care.

Morning all
Nice day here again we could do with a bit of rain but I must say I am loving this summer.
Two people coming today and they have requested a walk around a local lake with a coffee place at the end, we will then have a picnic lunch and then have a walk around the shops, it’s a very small town and mainly full of antique shops but it’s nice to walk around and have a look.
Dinner tonight will be jacket potatoes with various fillings and salad.
I had to give notice to mums cleaner yesterday mum is having carers come in every day as from next week and she can’t afford both, the cleaner is nice enough but while she was excellent when she first started her standards have dropped a lot and she spent da a lot of time talking and not much time cleaning!
Garden to be watered later everything is so dry it’s a struggle to keep things alive in this weather.
Gers I love my Apple Watch I use it every day I think you may like it once you get used to it, if you have an Apple phone the set up is easy you can pair the watch to the phone.
Have good days all and take care xx

Another warm day today on the cards
Workmen just turned up. Floor came up yesterday but, as yet, the flooring hasn't been delivered so they're taking up all the skirting etc. I'm upstairs keeping myself entertained with the tv and my book. It's going to be a long day!
Have a good day all x

Morning everyone
I got home on Sunday after a lovely break with eldest DD in Majorca, we were in a little place called C'an Pastille which is only 10 minutes from the airport. We did nothing other than lie on very comfy sun loungers, eat lovely tapas lunches and enjoy breakfast and tea in the hotel, it had just been refurbished and was excellent. It was hot and got hotter and I got red stripes on my back and legs! DD is a lovely shade of brown…she was at work yesterday and today flies to Vietnam for 2 weeks, for work but she has the weekend to relax.
I went to see mam and dad yesterday, they were very happy to see me and we had a good chat. There was a problem with dad at the weekend, I won't go into it as it's personal he was really upset and cried when he told me, but I had to speak to the manager and will speak to her again today to make sure it has been followed up. It made me feel awful as he was just like a little boy trying to tell me…and also a bit overwhelmed as I'm the only person they have to speak up for them. My brother who lives an hour away went to visit for a couple of hours at the weekend, but my brother 5 minutes away didn't visit while I was away, or my sister-in -law who seems to have forgotten how much my mam provided childcare for years for them.
Little one was here yesterday afternoon, which was lovely, lots of hugs and all her news. She had my friend's grand children over to play in the garden, they were on the last day of their holidays with her, they get on really well together. Then we were joined by little baby, who had been visiting his mum, he was full of beans! By 7pm I was back to peace!
This morning I have a big pile of ironing to do, still some to get dried but it's raining just now. I'll go down to see mam and dad this afternoon.
Ruby I'm pleased you have been able to organise some help for your mum, mine still doesn't agree that she wasn't managing at home. Does she qualify for Attendance Allowance, that paid for dad's carers when he was at home.
Right, best get on, hope everyone has a good day x

Afternoon all, thanks for the start @Gers.
Welcome back to our holiday-makers, I hope you all enjoyed your breaks.
It felt very muggy yesterday, more so as the day went on, and we had just a few spits and spots of rain in the evening. I think it must have rained steadily overnight though as the pavements were wet when I got up. This morning has been cloudy with sunny intervals, temperatures in the mid-20s and more rain possible this afternoon.
I received my latest energy statement yesterday - actual usage came to a few pennies over £26 for the month but those wretched standing charges and VAT brought the final total to just over double that. 😖 I'm expecting my energy supplier may soon be asking if I want a refund of the credit that's built up but I'll keeping it where it is to go towards winter usage.
This morning I've done the usual housework stuff while DS used the laptop for job searching and this afternoon I'll have a think about getting one or two things off the To Do list. There's certainly plenty to choose from, it will all depend on how I feel. 😁 Easy tea tonight of a beef stir fry, strawberries for afters.
For those of you who mentioned the GB programmes (sewing, cooking etc) don't inspire you to take up the activity - notice I said the new GBSB 'might' get me moving on the fabric stash, not 'would'. 🤣 I used to love sewing but nowadays dragging the machine out can be enough to scotch any such fanciful ideas. 🙄
@Ruby - I'm so glad your mum will be having carers each day from next week, I hope it works out well for her (and you).
@dp1 - Not having any siblings I was the only carer for my late dad so understand just how overwhelming looking out for elderly parents can feel. ((Hugs))
Off to raid the fridge now for lunch so I'll wish everyone a good day whatever you're up to. Take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
