Just got my first bill, rate increased on the 6th August. No contact from them stating rate was increasing, I believe they should have informed me about it.

Yeah I am disapointed at my new rate from October with this supplier, only switched 1 month ago.

Was paying 64p per day and 21p each unit. (versus cap 64p and 26p)

Now paying 61p per day and 26p each unit. (versus cap 61p and 26p)

It sort of feels like I am not really getting much from the VAT reduction.

Out of curiosity what are they putting the gas tariff up to (southern region if poss)? When I left to go to a fix it was going up from 6.22 to 6.85 on 6 Aug. I assume it'll be close to the cap rate of 8.17p from Oct? Just that my stepdaughter will be completing in October (hopefully) on a property with gas, coming from all electric flat where she's with HE, so trying to see if they are going to be cheaper than the deemed BG tariff she'll take on when she moves in.

I had my electricity with Home Energy until now, they've been up front in saying due to outside factors they couldn't sustain the cheap prices any more. They have been creeping up and up in recent months and are no longer the cheapest for me, particularly with another price rise due in January 2027. So I have switched suppliers on a 12 month fix from October 1st.
