Lloyds Premier - worth upgrading from Club for BUPA?

Also worth noting that the prices for private prescriptions are not fixed and can vary significantly.
I dont have it via Lloyds but have it via PMI instead. There are certainly plus points, can often get an appointment within a couple of hours no matter how insignificant the issue and you can choose your doctor from a long list rather than being given who happens to be free.
Obviously its all done by video or telephone so no possibility for physical examination which may be limiting in some circumstances. Our main experience however is that unlike they GP they are very quick to do a referral for a consultant rather than a prescription and of cause the referral will be to a private consultant not the NHS. For example the Mrs occasionally gets outbreaks of spots, no formal diagnosis, each time it happens her GP gives her anti-biotics and they go away for another 6-12 months. The private GP however wanted her to see a dermatologist to get a formal diagnosis and wouldnt prescribe anything in the interim.
That for us isnt a major problem because the PMI will pick up the cost other than the excess but if your cover is limited to just the private GP it could get expensive. I dont know if their behaviour changes if the app shows them you dont have PMI behind the cover.
