Has anyone been mis-sold room occupancy by TUI?

Extra note - paying monthly wit TUI loses you all your card protection/chargeback options
How so?
Edit: do you mean paying monthly via a non-card method perhaps?

my experience is that they always show the lowest price possible, so if its a 3 person room they price is based on 3 people sharing and anything less the cost PP goes up as the room is shared less ways

Yes, you can pay TUI in monthly installments, but automatic monthly payments are set up via Direct Debit from a bank account rather than a recurring manual card payment. Alternatively, you can log in manually to make card payments whenever you like
So yes you lose card protection and chargeback ability if you set up the monthly one
I am a Travel Agent
I’ve sent you a PM
My company’s ABTA/ATOL numbers are G9172/6053. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. You can check my ATOL with the CAA. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
Fair enough, the point that you only achieve card protection by paying by card seems kinda obvious, but I'm sure that in a customer-facing role you'll be amazed at some of the odd questions and misunderstandings!

There are a lot of people seem to really not know about this stuff and during COVID Chargebacks were one of the most effective tools with the Tour Ops/Airlines who REALLY pushed things (Looking at you Thai Airways!) - though luckily Ive never had one
I also point out to people thnat its a fixed amount every month - with us they can set up a monthly payment by card but if they want to skip a month they can (eg Christmas) and make it up another time - but most people are hppy to do Deposit and thenb final balance eg 12 weeks before
BTW - If you want to know how - umm challenging some customers are braincell wise - i had a call from Larnaca airport the other week - "I think we've missed our flight" - oh damn i think - "ok whats the board saying" "Well the flight has just been delayed 15 mins " "yes but what is the board saying?" - "It says go to Gate - they never called our names" - "No they dont call names now - ok so Go to Gate sounds good (its about 40 mins before flight goes so close but not deperate) - what Gate is it saying to go toc "Gate 7" "What Gate are you at?" "Gate 6" (i stifle a scream) "OK Go to Gate 6" - i hear her ask "Is this the Manchester flight?" and someone says yes - me "OK is the Gate still open - it sounds like people are there" "Yes I think we're ok - but they never called us" (I then explain about silent airports etc etc and how she would have had to buy new flights and tell her off a bit lol) Yes some people can be a challenge

Had it been a long time since they last flew? Silent airports seem to have been around quite awhile now. Though we did get get called at Heathrow one year but that was because we were a large group of around 40 and we were running late waiting for a number of children to pick a meal deal, everyone else was seated on the plane when we finally got there.

Some people should not be allowed within 5 miles of an airport.

LOL True - though to be fair did you know Aiports are designed to psychologically make youa bit dumb - all the queuing and stand here - styand there - do this do that - be here by this time etc etc is designed so that by the time you get on the plane you are used to following orders and quite docile - oh and to make you shop more obvs lol

Not relevant to the OP but…
We arrive at the airport in plenty of time.
We have checked in on line.
We can work out what zone we need to drop our hold baggage at.
We know that we don't have any items that are not allowed.
We have all our documents ready.
We know how security works. We book fast track if we are flying early.
We know to check the electronic boards.
We make ourselves aware of how long it is to the gate (although we walk fairly quickly).
We know what row/seat we have been allocated.
Really…how hard is it?
Despite your suggestion that airports are designed to 'psychologically make people a bit dumb', the reality is some people are intelligent and some people are dumb.
