I don't want another week of doom and gloom. Plan was to go to Dorset today, stay 2 nights with BIL so I can visit Mum. Plan still stands but Mum had a fall yesterday and now has a fractured shoulder. Fortunately DB whizzed down and sat with her in hospital - after she'd waited 5hrs for an ambulance which then meant extra blood tests to see if there was any muscle damage following the 'long lie'. One lot of bloods clotted, so back the vampires came more than an hour later. Anyway no surgery needed, DB followed hospital transport (which took 3hrs to arrive) to see her safely settled back in her care home, having decided that it was a better option than putting her in his car. I'd just got over the stress of constantly checking progress when I had a message to say that a long-standing friend has just moved into palliative care. So plan B is we will visit her on our way to Dorset. Breathe.

Yesterday, apart from worrying, comprised aqua aerobics, work and zumba. and greenhouse watering.

This morning Mr N and I washed the car just after 7am and I did plant watering. Charged car. Packed (which at least in this weather and for just 2 days isn't much). Downloaded books onto Kindle in case Mum isn't up to much lively chat (although DB said she was chatty and cheerful in hospital).

Men have just arrived to continue laying the base for the new shed. They are likely to return to finish it on Monday - Mr N's birthday and with an extra car on the drive as BIL is coming up to stay to help celebrate the birthday and put up the shed. It's all go here. What day is it?

👋🏼 from a parched Somerset… Can I come @roundtuit too please.. happy to catch a train to further up then cadge a seat (I’m happy in the back) will bring jammy flapjacks, lentil crisps and apple juice for refreshments.. ☺️ No coat for meeee, I shall dance in the rain barefoot and enjoy it 🤣

A break from the norm would be good about now!

Hoovered downstairs and washed the floors 😣 lots of hidden Gizzy hairs in places I wasn’t expecting.. He was such a furry thing 😌💗

Waiting for a friend to arrive for a cuppa n catch up.. tired today so conversation might be slower than normal 🥱

Oh and have been diagnosed with lymphoedema 😑 explains a lot, need to spend some time researching how to help myself with it.. any “advice” gratefully received even if it’s simply what you do for yourself should you have it..

Morning all. I'll join you Round, don't think I am too far away from you - near York. We had moisture in the air this morning but I still had to water the gardens.

I have done dailies, walked Poppet, one work shift, checked banking and hoovered through.

I'm about to bring in the emptied bin, feed the birds, and put out the recycling.

I've sorted a pile of receipts into months prior to sitting down and sorting some Admin. I never did write that list as the window cleaner arrived and I dashed upstairs to get dressed. Just remembered that's what I was going to do. 🤦‍♀️

No flying was done on Wednesday and I had a whole list of things to do, but things got in the way. Still not done 'the list' today but have done some flying:

• MrShores new lightweight duvet arrived so took the opportunity to change the bedding - all washed and almost dry. Bed made up again.
• Charged up the robovac and set him free downstairs - he did a good job. While he was doing that I got out the Lakeland rechargeable handheld and gave the stairs a good hoover. I remembered it had come with a stick and floor attachment so gave the upstairs a quick hoover and in the gaps where the robovac can't go. Once he's had a rest (and recharge) overnight I'll set him free upstairs too and who knows, I may even do the bathrooms!

So my jobs I wanted to do but didn't (these really are OATs aren't they):

• Keep an eye on the table I advertised - may need to move it onto fleabay - or maybe it just isn't table-buying weather
• Declutter and tidy up the office and bedroom
• Make a plan for the summer apple tree pruning
• Buy some filler for the wooden bench
• Set a reminder for me to check the water meter next Friday

Sorry can't join you on the trip up north but hope you all have a lovely time. xx

BLACK (not back) bin brought in. Been out for lunch with a newish friend; a good natter was had and she mentioned she has been pruning her damson tree - upshot was I came home via hers as I scrounged some trimmings for the bunnies - she was going to strip them of leaves but I took them as they were - lots for the bunnies to chew and gnaw. I think the posh word for it is enrichment. Pegged out the washing - was dripping wet; ordinarily I would have given it an extra spin (happens sometimes, no clue why but I figured in this heat everything can drip dry.

Before I went out (and before I showered) I managed to breeze through the ironing which has been lingering and which didn't get ironed because it has been too hot to iron.

Booked tomorrow nights trip out with my besties - we are off to a Mowgli restaurant in Steel city.

Happy to bring cake for everyone! I seem to remember that coffee & walnut (or it might have been pecan) and lemon drizzle went down particularly well at our last Flymeet - but we'll probably need the equivalent of a whole cake each to keep us going for a few days, so get your orders in soon!

I did the dailies first thing and remembered to make Rosie's appointment for next Tuesday.

By the time we were ready to go out, it had started raining here: not a heavy downpour, but a steady shower that was almost too much for Rosie to want to set foot outside the house. The car got a much-needed wash! Because Rosie was looking a bit off-colour this morning (she's 13 years old now) and would probably not have enjoyed going to a noisy railway station, we changed our plans about where to go and ended up visiting one of our local NT places. The rain followed us there but stopped as soon as we had dressed up in our lightweight macs, and the sun came out again. After lunch I took Rosie for a walk in the parkland which is full of rabbit, sheep and deer smells - she loves that! Later DH and I had scones (it had to be done!) while Rosie tucked into a doggy ice cream. She is now very relaxed, dreaming of rabbits I guess. DH and I agreed that it was good to be out in the fresh air on a day that was not stifling hot, though our garden shows no sign now of having been watered earlier.

I am about to declutter another admin job off my list before throwing together some salad bits for our supper.

been to outswim cancer. My friend Liz and I did our usual chattering - then caused much amusement as we tried to compare feet in the pool and I managed to submerge. Anyway I now know I have a bruised foot - I stood, barefoot, on a dropped peg earlier. My washing dried despite going out wringing wet. DW emptied, swimming stuff in WM. Watched wdytya. Last week I was blown away by Adeel Akhtar's mum who was beautiful. This week blown away by Harriet Walter's beautiful mum and her work…

WA card posted to niece and hubby. All the anniversaries are August. One of my organised things is to print address labels for cards - so all cards already have addressed envelopes.
