Blackcats

not a lot of flying happening here but washing is done and put away although ironing has been put into a neat pending pile.

Dishwasher done and microwave cleaned inside and out.

Dining table is clean and tidy.

I just made a cake as we have one of DH's chums popping round tomorrow. It's not my finest creation but hopefully it will taste ok.

been to Denby pottery village for xmas stocking fillers. Been to vol job and worked on agreements. been to DS's for tea.

• managed small amount of gardening before breakfast
• put DW on
• gym swim
• voluntary work
• came home very tired and hot so pleased to see the tower fan has arrived. I know it makes no sense to use more electrical equipment to counteract the effects of climate change but …….
• finally made a decision on which utilities tariff to go onto when ours expires at the end of the month. So many choices and so many variables. Picked the one with especially low standing charge as we don't use gas for at least 5 months of the year and we're quite low users of electricity anyway.
• continued messaging the catering company about the Turkish evening they are putting on at local pub next month - I seem to have turned into the organiser for 2 church groups worth of people so we've now reached 14; as soon as I notify the company about another one, yet another appears.
• did a tiny bit more gardening this evening but I seem to be truly whacked out. Area for new shed to go is about as clear as we can make it; contractor will come round tomorrow and Thursday.

Morning all,

After an unprecedented flying spurt on Monday, yesterday had no progress at all, but I am excellent at ignoring what needs doing. I went to the allotment early, changed, washed and got the sheets dry, had a cuppa with a friend, then gave the rest of the day over to finishing and hanging the curtains for the LR. They are in place with a pinned hem, my excuse is that I’m letting them drop. The fact that I hate hemming is neither here nor there.

Today, the wm is running, DH has been despatched to get a c&c and post one of those sneaky beginning of the next month birthday cards, and I need to catch up on yesterday’s list. Bathroom is be crying out for attention, along with the bedroom. And don’t even look in the spare / craft room as that is where curtain making has been happening. I also have an ironing pending pile in there - thank you Blackcats, that sounds so much better than a mountain.

Morning all. Washing out. Delay Repay payment has dropped into my bank account - simple process, and for about £45 so worth doing! Off out shortly to meet a former work colleague.

Back to paid stuff today and it's been ok so far. Before work I did dailies, dog walk and watered gardens. Now having my lunch break and I've done dead heading in the back garden so far.

I'm up, made my bed, taken my new meds, turned over the calendars and completed the nyt puzzles.

Twot again for the last couple of days. And still no wet stuff. So I'm taking the Flylady minibus out of storage and heading for the isle of Iona on the west coast of Scotland where I'm hoping to dance in the rain. I'm picking up Fayolle on my way - bit of a detour there but the more the merrier 😊. Anyone else want to join our (fantasy) trip? iona I'll be driving past your neck of the woods on my way back ooop north, do hop on.

In RL I'm going to make a brew and write a list of things that need attention but I only remember when they jump out at me. It'll be a looooong list. I may need two brews.

Morning all,

Well that’s a change in my plans. I’m packing a few things including a raincoat and sitting on the doorstep waiting for Round to swing by with the minibus. If Valli and Narc0 have already hitched a lift as she comes down south, make sure there is enough room for Iona and me to slide in. Hand luggage only, ladies. Looking forward to some rain dancing.
The heat yesterday afternoon got to me about 3pm when the temperature went over 30 again. I flopped for a short while then metaphoriclly kicked myself up the derrière to carry on. Today is cloudy and definitely cooler. Yesterday I tackled my list of bedroom and bathroom, pleased that I actually did that, helped by listening to podcasts to while away the flying time. Today in RL, instead of stepping on the minibus, I ought to spruce up the LR and take in the hall and stairs. Mr M due to deliver this afternoon.

Oooh, yes please, round, do pick me up on your way north. I should love a a sea breeze and a bit of rain right now. We had dark clouds to the north of us a few minutes ago, but I've just looked out again in that direction and they've broken to reveal the bright blue sky hiding behind hem. So much for our local forecast of "light rain showers" all morning. Not a chance.

Yesterday, part from making two small, gold-plated jars of strawberry jam, doing WMx2½ (DH left a tissue in his pocket so I've had to re-wash his once-black-but-now-fluffy-white T-shirt and trousers) and a general PUPA, I spent most of my time tracing down more of T's ancestors, thanks to some very helpful articles and family announcements in old Australian newspapers. I've even started writing them up in date order, with references - all very time-consuming but satisfying, and a good work-out for the little grey cells.

I asked DH if we were going out today, and he took it to mean that we are, so it looks like the three of us might be heading for a small heritage railway about an hour's drive away, which Rosie and I have never visited.

Before we go, I need to make Rosie's appointment for her annual vaccination.
