Oh i'd be grumpy about that too embb! I'm sure she'll be fine;) Men just dont think sometimes:rolleyes: It is wild here too, i'm on the 3rd floor with floor to ceiling windows and i think they're about to come in:eek: I have a dilemma, DD is meant to be going for swimming lessons today, however i have mild whiplash so dont think letting a 4 yr old hang off my neck is a good idea:confused: But if i dont take her i will feel like a very bad mummy, i may just dose myself up with painkillers:o WM on then i will jump in the shower, hopefully the hot water will help my neck.

    Morning all

My goodness you were a chatty bunch last night:D .

Embb - DIL is in the best place and am sure once they have her fluid levels back up everything will be fine. As for your son have to say DH is a bit like that where his mum is concern, they just dont think.

    Happy birthday to LJDs son:D

Solway - thanks for the kind words:D

Am still feeling down in the dumps, think it maybe DD2 night time wanderings that are doing it - 4 times again last night she had me up! Motivation has vanished again and I really would love to go back to bed and pull the duvet over my head. Blooming froze on way to school this morning.

DH away tonight and tomorrow. Work are having a motivational team meeting thingy at centreparcs, he has to be there for 7am in the morning so is staying at his mums tonight as she is literally 5 mins away from there. They have a meal booked at 8pm so by the time he comes out of there and drives home it could be gone midnight so makes more sense for him to spend the night there too. So spag bol for tea as in freezer:D .

    Coffee me thinks

Just a quick one, I did some ironing last night and the ceramic plate of the iron has some stuff stuck to it - how do i get it off? Any suggestions or am I gonna have to buy a new iron (only had this one 3 months)

Ouch for your DD mumoftwo my DD1 had braces and they're quite painful initially, she dosed up on paracetamol which helped a little.

G&B ouch for you too, meant to mention you in my last post and forgot, hope your neck gets better soon there's nowt worse.

Shell she's back home now apparently but has been in bed until today, they're coming over at some point. She wasn't even keeping water down - poor love. RE: the iron - my mum always used a candle on the iron when it was still warm to get muck off, that's what I've always done too, suppose there's an easier way though I just don't know it ((((((((hugs)))))) hope you feel brighter soon x

I'm falling asleep at this desk *yawn*

LJD1 happy birthday to your son, hope he has a lovely day
mumoftwo and the others with bad weather, hope it doesn't cause too much damage. It's getting quite windy here but still quite bright, we did go past the council out removing a huge tree which had gone over on a road last night, I can hear it trying to get through the windows which is making me feel very cold, brr! I have every intention of staying in if possible apart from school dash.
Denise, must say well done, you have been busy! School stuff is so expensive isn't it, I am sure it's just as bad where you are as it is here.
embb fingers crossed for your DIL and that everything is ok. I am sure it will be.
shell I'm not sure with the iron, some recommend vinegar, I am sure if you google 'clean iron' you will get a squillion suggestions. Hope you're feeling less down soon, worst time of year for it according to my sons psychiatrist.
g&b hope your neck is better soon, maybe you could get DD to hold on elsewhere if she needs someone to hold onto, I remember when my friend cut her neck and took her daughter swimming, that was when her little girl started to swim because she couldn't hang onto Mummy.

Right, today. Well DP is still in bed so I can't tackle that just yet or do anything too noisy, so I have tidied up the kitchen and sitting room after the morning stuff, started a washer load, DW will go on as soon as I am finished this cuppa. Will crack on with the bedroom when DP gets up and do the vacuuming through downstairs and upstairs then. I'm going to try and get in touch with Silent Night and complain about our mattress, spent a fortune getting a good one and it's sunk in the middle and you can feel every coil in the darn thing, so uncomfortable!

Oh I had an email back from BT, the overcharged £130 has now been taken off, they agreed that the £24 a month we've been paying is way too high and has left us in credit by a lot, so that's now dropped to £11 a month :D happy with that, £13 a month less than I have been paying them.
Hope everyone has a good day :D
One day I might be more organised...........

  • :DMorning (evening Denise) I hope you're all flying well !!
Yesterday just didn't happen fly-wise for me....... it started off ok I managed to do the dailies before leaving on the school run. I came back though to a phone call to say that I had no-one to fetch dd from school or look after ds when I went to work at midday. Spent my cleaning hour finding someone - mil kindly offered though pil shouldn't have really driven them over here as he has a dodgy back atm.
Rushed around to my sister to give her a birthday card.
Came back, put uniform on, went to work.
Sneaked out of work early for a 6pm meeting with dd's teacher, came home, had dinner, watched CSI and went to bed!

So, this morning I've been naughty and played catch up :o which meant I've done the living room rather than our room - more important as friends over at the w/end.

Witchypoo - how's the efficient piling system getting on? - any luck with the crisis cleaning? If you find getting up really difficult, I found that a very old old style alarm clock put on the other side of the bedroom on a metal biscuit tin was very good as I knew I'd got to get up before it went off or the OH would kill me laughing-smiley-014.gif
LOL Well there are still piles but I'm not sure how efficient they are! Tee hee I think you meant filing? I haven't touched that part yet, but today I am going to clear/tidy the top of my chest of drawers and my bedside, once that is clean and tidy it will lift the room and inspire me to do the rest of the room. The pile of filing is at the foot of the bed, on top of the file box itself and shouldn't be a huge job once I am in the right frame of mind. I haven't done any actual 15 minute timed crisis cleaning sessions (yet) but I know it is a great way to catch up when under pressure, I do it when we are off on hols or expecting company if I am not caught up. I'll keep you posted!

Here's my personal list for the day:
    • Do Yoga
    • Tidy and clean top of chest of drawers
    • Tidy my bedside table and floor area
    • Take kid's laundry off their stairs and put away
    • Vacuum and Mop floors
    • Flick feather duster around
    • Hubby is to ring: step-mum and step-sister
Had a terrible night, got woken in the small hours by the care team that hubby's step-mum's personal alarm rings when she presses it. They told him (in his sleepy state at 2am) that his mother had fallen, he was confused cos his mum died 7 years ago and told them they had the wrong number. Once it dawned on him who they meant he said he'd call and if he got no answer he'd go round there. Of course, she'd fallen so she could not get to phone. He was livid (she's a bit of an alcoholic as well as disabled) and went round there (he's up at 5am for work) only to find his dad asleep in bed and her sat on floor in dark, moaning about his dad - we think they'd had a small row. Thankfully she was not injured in the slightest, we think it might have been attention seeking to prove a point to her husband. Her two flippin daughters hadn't answered the phone when the care team rang them.. "they were probably asleep" says she, "yeah, I was asleep too!" said hubby. Upshot was, from the moment the call came, to about an hour after he got back home, I could not sleep even when I knew all was OK I just could not relax. Him too, even after we had both laughed about it once we knew all was well, and had a cuddle-up in bed, we were both laying awake for ages. And even when I fell asleep, I remember having a bad dream about intruders in the garden and house!

So I woke up very tired and am finally dressed, fed and watered, have dragged the wheelie-bin in and let the rabbit out. I'm set now for a few jobs I think!

Scary Wednesday!! The wind is blowing 100mph here, bridges closed, no buses or trains, trees falling over.. Not good.

Oh well, good day to stay indoors, apart from school run, Have Asda delivery this morning, hopefully they won't cancel because of the weather

DD2 got braces fitted yesterday, poor thing, full mouth of metal, for only 2 mishaved molars.. She is in pain, but did go to school.

Hope you are all ok and having a good day.

Master bedroom, ok if I must, Not as bad as last week..

Mumoftwo- i had braces a few years ago and my DS now has them. i found pain killers & ibubrofen worked really well and eating soft food or soup helped. she should be o.k in a couple of days.
Back on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/140
  • Believe me witchypoo, if you saw how my house used to look when I lived at home with folks then piling system was closer than a filing system - mom reckoned my desk could be investigated by timeteam looking for lost civilisations of paperwork - I'm a lot better now, tho come to think of it my pending file could do with culling methinks.

    Todays to do list:-

    Check smoke detectors
    Dust bedroom
Tidy bedroom - especially bedside cubbies
    Vac bedrooms and landing
Hotspots - study floor and pending file
27 fling boogie - old mags
    Clean bedroom windows

    Asda
docs apt @ 1640 - am coughing like a miner with emphasema and speaking in a hushed squeak - not great for someone who calls the flights at the airport - I sound like a wheezy sex line
    apt @ 1300 - Goldstar
    apt @ 1930 - Streetly windows

Am getting in quotes for windows and guttering at mo - bloke last night stayed until 10pm! Quote was bit on high side but quality very good and they can do everything in a few days....umm....will wait and see what others quote then maybe try to play them off each other a bit more. Must remember to get something to eat before this other rep comes tonight or will be eating at midnight.
    I'd rather be watching CSI!
