Oooh,. I'm so happy! All thanks to :A LJD1 :A My Dyson is fixed again YAY!

Work was suitably quieter today - managed to get lots done as well as look on here now and then during the day.

My tasks for today are coming on nicely

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs

    Level One
[STRIKE]Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter [/STRIKE] Thanks to LJD1 and me taking the Dyson on a victory lap all around the furniture and the floor
[strike]Clear anything from the stairs! Safe stairs are a must[/strike] N/A - no stairs!
    Level Two
Move clutter so you can vacuum under it
[STRIKE]Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Dust any areas below eye level [/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)[/STRIKE]
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, ahem that includes that cup!
[strike] Wipe the bits next to the steps on the stairs, yours might be skirting board, edging of some sort, grab a cloth and give it a wipe[/strike] N/A no stairs
Extra Mission Tasks - as usual if you fancy tackling something else you could try one or more of these
    • Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
    • [STRIKE]Check where important documents like passports, birth certificates, driving licences, medical cards are and make a note of where they are and if any need replacing, changing etc[/STRIKE]. They're all in date and in a safe place
    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
    • Clean any ornaments, mirrors, clocks or other dust collecting collections
    • Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!
    I also need to
    • [STRIKE]Order some postal tubes online - Staples didn't do them in bulk and the single price was ridiculous[/STRIKE] Got some at a v. reasonable price from Staples online - fortunately I have a company so was able to get business prices for bulk. Should arrive at work tomorrow
    • Phone vet to get vaccination appointment
    • Boil beetroot for sandwiches
    • [STRIKE]Get ham out of freezer to defrost ready to cook tomorrow night[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Work out what to do with the Dyson[/STRIKE] :ALJD1:A did this for me :)

I've cooked my chicken, potatoes and carrots in my SC. Nobody warned me I wouldn't be able to get the chicken out! Anyway, how do I now make the remains into stock?

I'm sure you lot will know!

  • Am just loitering on here while I wait for the window bloke to come and quote for the windows - which bit of the forums should I go on to find out how to knock them down on price? I only really use the OS forum usually..

  • Jue - have you tried grabbing it through its doodah with a pair of tongs - (i'm talking about the chicken!!) you'll be able to lift out most of it. I then fish the majority of the vegs out to dish up but leave a few in the bottom with the bones til I've eaten tea and washed up then sieve and freeze.....but I'm a novice cook so I'd wait for a sensible person's answer.

I want to scream and shout because I just wrote another long post and lost it AGAIN! I am sure it is because I am \not used to this lap top. I want to cry too.
We had kitchen floor fitters and gas men and all sorts here today to take out kitchen appliances and remove old flooring. I went to dentist 18 miles away and had to have a tooth removed. DH and I had planned to go out for lunch after dentistr visit. I wasn't expecting to have my tooth removed. Anyway it took two dentists 1 and a half hours as the blighter didn't want to come out. I had stitches too. Needless to say we didn't go to lunch and came home to find men still here and the house absolutely freezing as all the doors were open. I ennsconced myself upstairs where I am still. DD made me soup and DH and son are out looking for take away food or a pub which is open tonight. We`do live in back of beyond.

    Jobs done today- ZERO!

Jue, if you get chicken out as lg described or with a fish slice under it you will have loads of bits of chicken left over in the bottom. To make gravy if you want to eat straight away mix all the bits left in bottom of SC with a little hot water and transfer to a pan. Add a desertspoon of cornflour mixed with a little cold water and bring to boil stirring all the time. You can add seasoning but won't need a stock cube as you should have lots of flavour from the chicken. If you are eating later make sure you still have some stock in the SC and add cornfour as above and put the lid back on and cook until ready to serve. It takes longer to thicken gravy in SC than in a pan so normally I would do this about 40 mins before the meat is ready and turn it up high.

Erm, I need some advice from all you Face-bookers please? A bloke has messaged me (twice) he's in my network but not sure how else he got to see my photo, he said I looked nice and would I like to go for a coffee lol how did he get to my photo? I don't know how it works - and No I've no intentions of going for coffee even if he does look nice on his pic (if that is him :D )

Sorry for going off topic girls :o

    WHY????

that was.. why won't you go for coffee??? .. not why does he like you, that's because you are lovely.. Coffee is a much more sensible alternative to inviting him round to yours!!.. Plus you'll be in a public place.. he can pay.. Did I say that??? LmAO.. you won't ever have to see or speak to him again if he is a total fruitcake/geek/loser/spare [EMAIL="w@nk"]w@nk[/EMAIL].

I think you look nice too.. so there you go.. nothing like sh**ging someone new to get an old flame out of your system.. ask my mother!!!!
