This w/e I am "debanked" (now resolved: 90 hours wait, no info. Complaint rejected. Now ombudsman.)

I had one last week who put in £3000 instead of £300, and it had gone as far as the 2 step authorization on the credit card app. Thankfully I noticed and rejected it! My card wasn't stopped though.

Out of interest, what sort of transaction was that? I've only known 2 step authorisation used in online transactions.

I was at a convention where I tried to pay at the reception desk, but the wrong amount was put in by the receptionist on the computer. My cc needed me to confirm the payment but I noticed the wrong amount. The receptionist was extremely apologetic.

So far all I got from them about my complaint is cricket noise. Monday will be "five working days" since I last wrote to them. The haste with which they closed my complaint has not been replicated...
Next stop ombudsman?

Yes, I don't think you'd be unreasonable to treat the response you got as a final response and ask FOS have a look at it.

"Next stop ombudsman?"
No. Explain to the bank clearly and concisely how their service could be improved - if you have not already done so.
Going to the Ombudsman is simply wasting everybody"s time.

Going to the Ombudsman is simply wasting everybody"s time.
Could you explain why you think so?

Going to Ombudsman is very unlikely to achieve anything because the OP has suffered no measureable loss and the bank has followed generally accepted procedures. The Ombudsman also has real cases of loss to deal with.
If the OP could come up with a way that "simple to resolve" cases could be prioritised in the fraud department they would be better suggesting it direct to the bank.

Accepted by who? I doubt customers think it's acceptable.
Fraud seems to have developed into a catch all phrase to excuse issues not being handled in a timely manner.Let's Be Careful Out There4 -
You don't have to suffer a "measureable loss" to have a valid complaint….
