One inch outside bay

Hi there,

Posting on behalf of my wife!

Had a 'fine' (invoice!) for parking 'outside of bay'. If I told you it's less than an inch outside of the bay, it'd be an exaggeration. The photos show - quite literally - the most minor of infraction you might imagine. Not blocking of others, not causing any obstruction, and one inch of one wheel outside of the bay.

We didn't, as far as we know, receive the first notice, meaning we weren't able to follow the usual route. When we had the second letter (you missed your window to appeal, but the first time we knew of it), we then followed the process as best we could. Complaint, wrote to landowner, etc.

Anyway, the most recent letter is the 7 days to pay before being passed to ZZPS. I am of the view that this is so outrageous that paying would be criminal; she's much more inclined to pay, as she finds this whole matter uncomfortable.

Happy to post pictures but know that these boards are sometimes observed by the companies (or at least they were, last time I was here to ask about my own charge!).

Any advice really greatly appreciated. I know these threads are often 'read the sticky' in response, but just after a bit more personalised input.

Many thanks!

Wait for a Letter of Claim. Ignore ZZPS and any other company pretending not to be ZZPS (check the small print at the bottom of the letter).

Your wife's the registered keeper of the car?

Do you want to name the parking company and car park site location.

See NEWBIES POST 4 - Debt Letters and POST 2 - Small Claim, should you get a Letter of/before Claim giving you 30days notice.

Thanks, everybody so far. I am inclined to ignore - wife is a bit panicked, looking for a bit of reassurance! 🤣

So, your wife attreced a UKPC GOON, there are many of them, no doubt on commision

UKPC were once banned by the DVLA for fake timestamps …. Here is the problem with UKPC, they are contracted to manage a car park for the landowner ….. DO THEY ?

UKPC like unreadable signs which is one point. UKPC do NOT manage, they use a goon to extort money

The problem is not your wife, it is the width of the bay which DOES NOT take into account a bay with a huge cars whereby you cannot open the door

    THE PROBLEM IS UKPC

If you do get a claim from a dodgy lowyer do come back here … easy to bear, even court judges know that.

UKPC are well overdue for a full ivestigation by the CMA with their attemps to exort money

    A SUBJECT THE BPA IGNORES

Well she has nothing to worry about! From one woman to another, I can tell her she'll never have to pay.

    Yes please.

pictures as requested, cropped to show the ‘infraction’. There are others but they literally show the rest of the car fully in the bay and not blocking anything!! Let me know if you want the others - and I’m incredibly grateful for your feedback

Lines are worn out anyway. And they seem to be using a potato for a camera.
