What makes me think that?

Almost 20 years of experience here.

I wrote the NEWBIES thread.

I wrote the Template Defence.

I wrote the advice on CCJs here.

Several court hearings attended fighting parking firms and I've never lost.

I fact checked the official MSE Guide to Private Parking tickets which was updated a year ago, and I am name-checked there for my help (unpaid). After I fact-checked it, Martin Lewis himself checked and agreed it.

And now I'm providing evidence to the UK government to change things with a statutory Code of Practice. I've been on that committee for six years.

YOU WERE DUPED. And very poorly advised by the CAB, as usual for these cases.

Don't even think about paying any more but send them a SAR by email to find out about any others and to tell them to update your address (and ERASE the old address) on all of them.

Court claims are the end game you'd have wanted. Never just pay these.

@ChirpyChicken I might have got it wrong by paying then..but how do I deal with these debt letters with just 5 minutes work and not pay anything? I just don't understand, Trace are a real debt collection company and won't negotiate with me on the phone, so I get more and more threatening letters come through

Thank you everyone. I've had another Trace letter come through; well in fact, it's the third one relating to another historic PCN..this one says 'we are recommending that our client start legal proceedings against you'

What should I do?

I know you said you've read the NEWBIES but do read again the advice in POST 4 - Debt Agency Letters then POST 2 - Small Claim.

Have a read of others threads - search the forum for Alliance pcns in Cornwall. I've just found an Alliance one for Seaview car park Cornwall for the ANPR error list. I'm sure there will be plenty others.

You must not believe everything this nasty industry say in their letters. They have been scaring the public for years with their misinformation about CCJs, credit score costly court costs etc. If you don't know something always check it - ask Google, search/ask mse forum.

So ignore Trace as per post 4, wait on the Letter of/before Claim with 30days notice then reply with the response in post 2.

You've seen that letter - or one like it - when you read post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. That resource is there to stop people thinking they have to engage with debt crawlers, and to protect our time for when you really need us.

Which isn't now.
