My Sky package was activated at an increased price.

Although it’s definitely the case of it not being worth the effort for £3 to pursue this , that overstates the correct amount , it would be 10p per day for the days before April 1st you had service , as we now know your service started mid April , the increased price is correct for all the days of service you have had, so no refund at all is due , not £3 , not 10p , nothing, you coukd call and express disappointment, they may offer a goodwill gesture, but technically they haven’t done anything wrong .
As far as advertising a price knowing it will increase in the near future , in January ( 2 to 3 months before the historical date Sky uses for increasing prices ) their argument is it hadn’t actually been settled if prices needed to increase and by how much , once that corporate decision was made , they start to say in their literature that the price from April 1st will increase by whatever amount they decided , it’s not breaking any rules to use the price that is current until it isn’t current anymore , and as stated most people don’t accept dates so far ahead to be potentially mislead by this ( accepting a deal in January with a service date in April is effectively a hostage to fortune )
It’s clearly something of ‘with the benefit of hindsight’ but in January if you contacted Sky and said you wanted to use them , when they said OK , the activation is in April , you should have said , ‘OK in that case I will call back in mid March’ that way the April increase would have been pointed out , they couldn’t point it out in January, as it hadn’t been decided what the increase would be .
TBH , this seems to me that you incorrectly assumed £29 was the price for the 24 month deal …..even before the actual £3 increase was announced, the Sky T&C’s state they can increase prices mid contract , but customers can leave if they reject the increase and leave within a certain period, this is where Sky are different to most others , they say (for example) £30 , then £33 in March , then £36 the March after that , so you know the amount of the increase, with Sky you don’t (although you should anticipate it will go up because it always does )
If you genuinely would have cancelled if you were personally notified of this while you were waiting to be connected, who would you have used instead …..most increase during the minimum term by a similar amount , and those that don’t often are more expensive from the outset , and TBH , if Sky had charged you £29 for one month then £32 until next April (then whatever increase they see fit ) you would be happy with that makes little sense.

At the beginning of the year I moved to Sky at £25 per month for 24 months and they said there could be in contract prices. In due course they notified me of the April increase of £3. I spoke to them and said I was not happy with they increase so soon and would be leaving. They reduced my March payment to £22 and increased that to £25 in April.

I tried to do this, but it's not worked out for me.
Early in March, I applied to Plusnet for a 24mth contract with no price increase until April 2027, I'd then move March/April 2028, hopefully sidestepping any price increase.
I knew there would be a lag while they installed FTTP, but it wasn't activated until early June, so I'm going to be caught a second time for renewal.
Move along, nothing to see.1 -
If it's against the rules to promote deals then Plusnet and EE are also guilty. I got offers from Plusnet and EE
in Feb/March which were good offers but they made it clear there would be a price rise in April and I thought a
I could get a better deal after the price rise.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1
