shawbrook mature

just a quick 1 here, my fixed isa is due to mature mid aug

ive had a email from shawbrook asking what i want to do with my isa when it matures, its giving me the option of putting it in a easy access 4.21% (current fix 4.31%)

i was wanting to hold out to see if the rates will rise in mid sept due to the iran war pushing oil price up, so ive choose the option of the easy access, i thought reading on this board that it would go into a holding acc paying 1% or there abouts

im just wanting to know if this is now a new option shawbrook is offering

i am wanting to lock the isa into a 5 year deal currently 4.75% (furness bs) as we all want the highest rate as poss i am hoping the rate rise by mid sept/oct as i want to lock in

They've always offered various maturity options IME.

The low rate 'holding account' is where it goes if you don't let them know where you'd really like it to go.

I think you'll find that their Maturity Account only pays 0.10% NOT an eyewatering 1.00%!

The rate for a 5 year fix is unlikely to be significantly affected by what happens to the BoE rate moving say 0.25% later this year ( up or down) Projected estimates about future interest rates are already taken into account when offering the 5 year rate.

Also by then Furness may have attracted adequate funding and made their offer less attractive.
