E-sim for USA including calls
I’m aware there are a lot of e-sims on the market for USA, but the majority do not include calls.
I would like calls included to be able to use my phone for restaurant bookings and in case we need to call the car hire company for any reason etc. I know a lot of people use WhatsApp but I have spoken to Alamo and they don’t support that, we would need a phone line to make contact with them.
can anyone recommend a reasonably priced company for an eSIM? Something easy to set up.
EE works out around £60 for a fortnight so I need to look for an alternative.

My go to eSIM is Airalo. I haven’t used it in the US but I have used it in other parts of the world with no problems. Looking on their website the prices are a lot cheaper than what you are finding with EE.

10% cashback if bought via Quidco too.

I used etravelsim a few times, 12gb data and unlimited calls was about 20 quid I think, was valid for a month. Good service and coverage on the east coast at least.

I travel a lot, and I’ve been using esims for around 4 years. I’ve used airilo, but my goto version is Roamless at the moment. I like that the credit doesn’t expire.
My way of dealing with the problem of contacting local phone numbers is to deal with that when it’s necessary. I use Vodafone and 24hrs roaming would cost me nearly £8.
In half a dozen US trips I think I’ve had to turn on Vodafone roaming once.
So a combination of cheap data only esim and very occasional full-fat home roaming has been most economical for me.
That being said if anyone knows of a cheap esim with a decent amount of data (at least 5gb) AND a real number I’d also like to know. I’ve not found one.1 -
See above, etravelsim offer this.

I always use alosim and have for years as they have good customer service and packages.
You get a free US phone number for the duration of your eSIM data package.
You also can get 15% or $3 ($3 converts to £) off with no minimum spend. There are codes available that work.

Has a filter to exclude data only plans and is good resource for comparing eSims.

We used a Lebara physical sim card for our last trip, I was Vodafone anyway, so ported my number. It's £10 for a 2 week/7g pack. You can buy another if you run out of data. It included 50 mins phone calls. It worked well for us, used wifi at hotels in the evening, and data on the road every day during our road trip.
It looks like they offer an e-sim now too: https://www.lebara.co.uk/en/roaming/roaming-rate-finder-results/united-states.html?
