correct an estimated bill or not

I received an estimated bill from Thames Water which was very underestimated. Should I correct this by sending in a reading that I have taken? It does say in the bill that this will be corrected next time by a reading. Their estimate was 1278 and my reading was 1347 (because I have had a relative staying with me etc)

Depends how much difference it makes to your actual bill, and whether you’re happy to pay the extra next time round instead of now.

If the actual unit price isn't changing before the reading it doesn't really matter much unless you are on a very tight budget and want to be paying a little bit more per month now rather than a larger bit more later.

Personally, I would send in a reading and get the balance sorted out. In theory you could leave correcting their low estimate(s) until next March, as prices usually increase from April 1, so if cash flow is a bit tight that might be more attractive. Of course if they get an actual reading themselves between now and then, it will get sorted and you'll get the catch-up bill.
