i have lets say 10 current accounts with one Bank, from a consolidation POV would it be better to switch them all to another Bank or simply close them? said bank does have a "close account" button.

i am thinking from a credit report POV.

I'd switch them because if any payments are later sent to those accounts they'll be redirected to the account you switched to.

no chance of that happening but i am torn. on a credit file does an account closure due to a switch or a straight closure have a different impact? i can't help thinking a "closure" even if done by myself would look bad, especially lots in one go.

p.s i've just checked some credit reference agencies and the concensus appears to be closing has no real issue. still feels odd closing lots in one go.

I've done it accidentally with an old payment reference I hadn't deleted to a bank I later opened a new account with, had to hunt around to find the money which had been bounced to a different account from the old switch

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
