Thanks for your help.
Will ring MBNA tomorrow, then if i have to I'll close my account and get my wife to open one with me as an additional card holder.
Shouldn't have a problem with searches as credit score is good.
Will report back tomorrow.0 -
Hi all,
Both myself and my husband applied for the Barclaycard offer advertised in the MSE weekly email for a 24 month 0% on balance transfers and although it said you get a 2 minute decision, neither of us have heard anything since (we applied last Thursday).
Has anybody else had a similar experience or have other people received a decision?
Thanks0 -
Thank you.0

You'll only get a 2 minute decision if you are an excellent candidate for credit in the eyes of Barclaycard. If not, the decision is referred and reviewed by someone. You should call them to chase the application0 -
Looking at the Halifax 22 month deal for 3% as I have a halifax credit card, is that offer for existing customers as well? Also, I might need to remortgage in the new year for an extension, would they then have complete visibility of my stoozing debt?0

No chance for existing customers. They'll see exactly what's in your credit reports and you should get a copy of each one before applying for something like a mortgage0 -
I applied for the Barclaycard 0% tranfer over a week a go and only just recieved it. Probably takes a while, if you get a Royal Mail man delivering a brown box ad a monkey is inside it, you have got the card!!! Hehe!
While I'm on the subject, got the card as above. Was looking to transfer the money to me Visa Debit (Current account) which when applied said it was fine to do, I called them today and they said NO!
Was wondering what my chances would be of trying to transfer online and telling them it's a "credit card". I think I know the answer, that it will pop up with "needs to be credit card" but if anyone has tried it, it would be nice to know
Thanks:A If i was a rich girl....... :A0 -
realisticaly if we are more clever with the institutions we deal with and make transactions with, we will be far less likely to be targetted.0

This won't work. There is a database of card number prefixes so they can tell what type of account is linked to the number0
