Dear Thenudeone, nor sure your quite getting me?
This happened in March, I had'nt seen mistake till April 21st 2days before I was to fly to DA to get married. I was advised I had to be contactable to proceed (wrongly advised!) with complaint and be in the country. Ihad transferred from the Halifax card to Barclays. The Halifax card was for emergency Wedding spends!!. This something I didnt need (who does at anytime!) especially at this time! Ive tried every 2days to talk to someone at Barclays but noones ever available its always being escalated and noone calls back Ive had x2 calls back or so say but no miss calls on my phone!!!? I dont want it both ways but Barclays cant put me back in the same position. Ive neva been charged fees or gone over any limits before!! The whole point of doin this was a bigger picture in my financial plans (remortgage and a consolidation but 2 things I was considerin in August? which Barclays is mucking up. Im at the mercy of Barclays were I would previously been in control of my own financial decisions and plan!! Also the transfer if done properly would have 0% interest but I've had to shell out x2 payments of £150 on the whole amount!! Which I would not of had to if they had not created the mistake!!! You right if infotmed earlier I would of just excepted the return no questions but its not returningme into the same position now! Further if I would to say stooze again Im potentially looking at extra fee, note Barclays charged me x2 fees before!! Would be lovely to talk to someone Im already on my 10th await a call back attempt!! I was just wondering if anyone else has been in this position and how they handled it. If I went to the ombudsman would everything be put on hold? Thank you again
Peace:) Reece0 -
I currently have a NatWest credit card with no balance on it. I saw on their website they are offering a 2.9% balance transfer rate so I asked them about doing a balance transfer and they said it would 5% balance transfer fee - i thought as an existing credit card customer i would get "a great balance transfer special offer rate" - but no0

Hi
I've found the deal below to be the best for me:
Halifax Clarity: 2.9% for 16 months, NO FEE
However, I can't seem to find this deal on their website. What I'm able to find is the clarity card but with 12.92% p.a. (variable).
Am I doing something wrong here? Is there something I don't understand?

Where have you got that deal from?
As far as I know, the Clarity card is not a 0% card or a low % deal card. It is a 'no fee' card, i.e free to use abroad, no transfer fees etc.
There are other halifax cards with 0% deals for 17, 20 and either 22 or 24 months.0 -
Hey Guys
New to the site, registered as I have a few money concerns and just really want any advice that people may have.
My current debt stands at the following:
Overdraft: -£700 (being paid off at £100 per month)
Credit Card No. 1: -£1500 ( £1800 limit)
Credit Card No 2: -£3610 ( £3500 limit!)
Wow, actually putting it down on paper freaks me out!
Recently due to various personal and family problems I lost track of my finances.
I missed a payment on CC number one a few months back and have only just realised, as such where I believed I was paying on time turns out I have been paying a month in arrears, cue 2/3 late payments on this account.
As you can see on CC number two I have went over my agreed credit limit, I have incurred one charge for this and am due to incur another one as I am only able to make the minimum payment this month which will not bring me within the required limit.
As you can imagine these debts are of a big concern for me, I am and have been coping with them bar these last few months and really want to knuckle down and start clear as much of the debt as quickly as I can. I am really concerned about the charges I have been incurring as prior to this I was always making payments on time, however I am worried at how my Credit Score will be affected and how this will affect me in the future re:mortgage's etc.
What are people sugguestions? Should I look to get a loan and pay them both off so I have a set figure to pay each month? Should I look to get another CC and BT the two cards, again to have one single payment to make?
I can cope ok with paying both on a regular basis with more than the minimum payment but I want to get back within my limits asap and making the payment on time.
Sorry for the long post folks, any help would be greatly appreicated on the matter.
ps. I am unaware of the exact rates of APR etc but will contact the lenders tomorrow to clarify.0 -
Apoligies, I believe I may have put this post in the wrong topic!!0

I have 2 credit cards and each of the cards have run out of their deals. They have written to me to say I can have 0% on any new balance transfers for a year. Can you swap the balances? ie pay off one with the other and vice versa. Looked at getting a whole different card but didnt get a limit big enough for both balances.
Thanks0 -

Yes you can, as long as your credit limit is big enough to have both balances on the same card for a short period.
If not, you could transfer as much as possible across i suppose and keep doing so until it is all on 0% again, although this would take a while0
