Wondered if anyone can help me. I am currently unemployed with a credit card and store card to pay off. My Husband is willing to take this debt onboard and we want to know if there is a way to transfer my debts to a credit card in his name. I probably will not be able to get a credit card as unemployed and poor credit history0

Yes your husband can transfer your debt to a card in his name. Indeed he could transfer debts from friends, family or just Dave from down the pub (he may even buy you a beer  )
However, your husband needs to be aware that once a debt is on his card then he becomes legally responsible for that debt and ensuring the repayents are made. He cannot request the debt be transferred back to the original debtor at any time in the future.
Also be aware that you generally cannot transfer balances between cards of the same family. The list below will help you see which are the cards run by particular institutions :

Hi there
I have a 0% deal ending on my Halifax card (£1600 of a 1900 limit) soonish and am looking to BT to either the Tesco Bonus (14mth 0% offer) or the Nationwide Classic (13mth 0% offer). Does anyone have a sense of whether either of these score particularly harshly? I suspect that my limit may be less than the above if successful given the current climate though my credit history is good (if a little too good if you know what I mean).
Many thanks

Neither Tesco or Nationwide is known to score particularly harshly.
It's not an exact science of course but, judging from the feedback here, you're more likely to get a decent credit limit with Tesco, though not as generous as Halifax.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Hi Guys,
Is it possible to transfer the balance from a credit card account abroad ? Specifically: between $10,000-$15,000 of debt with Amex to any UK CC ?? The thing is that my husband will be moving to UK from NY in April most probably (he still needs to use his current Amex card settle the costs of international relocation, pay taxes over there, etc... So therefore I am unable to say now what his debt is going to be at the time of his relocation).
Is there a possibility of an overseas BT at all ? If so, then what would be our best plan...? I assume he would have a good credit score in UK already in spite of living abroad, as he has been added to my current account with Lloyds for around 18-20 months now.
Please help - any advice with that will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!0 -

I dont have anything to BT, but thought it was a good offer.

You imply this was unsolicited. If so, surely it was an invitation to apply, with no guarantee of acceptance, and not an actual offer? However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts0 -
I've just been rejected for an A&L card (I'm still trying to stooze). Applying on-line, I got a message to ring (0800 number) and was then told I was declined WITH REASONS. I've never had that before. (One reason was that I've already got a Virgin card - are there any out there that AREN'T run by MBNA?)However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. UK credit card providers can only accept balance transfers in pounds sterling from UK credit card accounts.I assume he would have a good credit score in UK already in spite of living abroad, as he has been added to my current account with Lloyds for around 18-20 months now.

Thanks for your feedback.
To maximise the 0% period, 14 months is currently available to new customers from Tesco.
A 2.9% BT fee applies.

Alternatively, you'd get 13 months with Halifax. There's a 3% BT fee.

Which is best depends, to some extent, on which cards - besides Virgin - you have at the mo or have held recently.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
