Event Cancellation - Heritage Live

Hi All

My daughter brought me tickets for Eric Clapton etc. at the Sandringham Estate. She purchased them with a bank card. The emails going back and forth are a nightmare. I assume under UK law it is the seller that is responsible, so it's them she should pursue for a refund. It appears Heritage Live were not selling tickets directly, only using 3rd party sellers, this also includes bookable buses to the event and VIP passes etc.

Any advice would be welcome.
Thank you

You should be refunded via the agency you bought the tickets from. It's been about 8 hours, so you may need to give them just a little more time.

According to their website you should contact the agent for a refund.

You will have bought your tickets via one of our reputable ticket agents, either AXS Ticketing, Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Gigantic, Skiddle, or Ticketline. Please locate and keep safe your ticket transaction receipt, which would have been emailed to you from one of the above ticket agents, following your booking. As the 'merchant of record' ticket agents are bound by the Consumer Rights Act to process your refund “without undue delay” and in many cases this will happen automatically within a reasonable period, but please contact your ticket agent directly should you have any queries.

It's also time to dig out the Ts and Cs regarding refunds.

I had tickets for Christina Aguilera at Sandringham and yesterday received an email from See Tickets advising of the event cancellation but stating that refunds had to be claimed from the Promoter, Heritage Live Festivals, so will try the email address they included for them. The SeeTickets email stated

‘please note that the ticket sale proceeds have been sent to the Promoter and refund requests must be submitted as set out above’,

I have downloaded the receipt from my See Tickets account, showing what I paid, to attach to the email. Do I need to provide any payment details (credit card number) in the email - or will the booking reference be sufficient .Having checked how I paid it was Credit Card via Pay Pal, so should I download that payment receipt from my Paypal account to attach to the email as well?

I took out insurance at the time of buying my tickets ... should I make a claim via this?

I'd have thought it'll depend on the terms of the policy - even if it includes coverage for supplier failure or event cancellation (rather than the purchaser having to cancel), many insurance policies won't pay out if the costs are recoverable from other parties, so in such cases it'll usually be best to see insurers as the last resort rather than the first one…

I would say no , as all the sellers have now agreed to refund, it was only see tickets dragging their heels

I just got my refund from see tickets. Unfortunately it was just £124 when my total cost was £142. Loss on £18 on one ticket.

Reason is no refund of booking fee and transaction fee. It feels wrong!

Interestingly when I had a similar situation with Bill Joel tickets/Ticketmaster they refunded the service fee as well. The only loss was a £3 transaction charge. - on a £235 ticket.

Does anyone know - could I claim my missing £18 from my debit card under charge back.

I don't think so I'm afraid. I think this is normal practice.

I understand how you feel but I think the argument is that the booking fee was a service correctly provided by an intermediary and completely out of their control that the organisers later decided to cancel the event.
