Car finance compensation cancellation fees

I stupidly signed up with 2 different solicitors for the car finance compensation claim. I've chosen 1 firm to work with but now worried about the other firm charging me a cancellation fee, not knowing how much it will be is stressful as I'm on low income.

Unfortunately I haven't kept any records or dates and my emails don't go back far enough, it feels like the whole compensation claim process has been going on for years and to be honest I've given up hope of actually getting any compensation. Now I have the stress of a potential cancellation fees.

Does anyone know how much this could be?

The fees should be proportionate to the work they did… their terms when you signed up will have given the hourly rate and ideally the blocks they charge in… Im no solicitor but I do offer my services on a similar model and charge by the quarter hour so if you send me an email and I quickly reply thats 15min charge, have a 10 minute conversation 15 minutes, have a 28 minute conversation thats 30 minutes… now personally I am not that pedantic but there was a story a while back of a lady exchanging emails about Christmas plans with her lawyer and then was shocked that she was getting charged for 5 minutes of time for every exchange.

Probably a floor of £50, most are more likely £100-£200, some are saying they are being charged £600+

Do you even believe you were a victim? Have you even established if discretionary interest was applied? We've had some here hoping to get compensation when they have 0% finance.
