am looking to buy a mini PC, and have chosen 2, from Amazon. Just need a bit of help deciding,

The usage will be for but light family use, basic internet,

using ms word and excel (which has to be purchased correct?)

It will not be used for gaming, or any heavy graphic uses,

We have found 2,

£249.9

ACEMAGICIAN Kron K1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C49GBZ66?
ref=cm_sw_r_cso_wa_apan_dp_RZKMHT87YFJG9NDXND63&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_wa_apan_dp_RZKMHT87YFJG9NDXND63&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_wa_
apan_dp_RZKMHT87YFJG9NDXND63

and

£239.99

NiPoGi P1 Mini PC Windows 11 pro,

apan_dp_LIGHTSABER1FGXTQYMVD

Questions

Which would you chose from the above 2? and why ?

Would like a faster one preferred.

Pros and cons of each one?

are there any other similar ones you can recommend?

Am willing to spend more money, if need be.

Like I said, will be for light family use.

Cheers

They appear to be both exactly the same, except one's in white and the other is in black :)

I have a few mates who bought these mini pc's and they have had issues with them and had to send them back or throw them away.

The issue I have with mini pc's is if they can be upgraded or repaired if things go wrong as some can't be repaired like replacing ram or other parts as they are soldered onto to the motherboard.

This doesn't apply to all mini pc.

So lots of research before you spend your money.

Neither. 8GB RAM is too small, go for 16GB. Also the ACEMAGICIAN brand is somewhat tarnished by having malware installed at the factory.

Have you looked at the NiPoGi Pinova P1 (AMD Ryzen 4300U). That's a better spec all round. No idea on the brand though...

Do you really need the small format? My previous two PCs were minis and I really liked them but even in the basic config they were twice the price of those and came to a lot more once I had added a second SSD and more RAM.

Had to bite the bullet and go back to a standard format once later versions of Photoshop and other apps demanded a separate graphics card to work properly.

As for MS Office that is an extra cost but LibraOffice will do everything you need and it is free.

Personally, I wouldn't buy anything over about £50 from Amazon, too many reports (and it happened to a colleague of mine) of deliveries of high value items, usually tech, arriving and, when opened, package containing only a very low value item of the same weight. (In my colleagues case it was a box of pasta shapes.) Amazon didn't want to know, basically called her a liar.

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

This may be more of a concern from the Amazon Marketplace and a third party reseller, but if you buy the item from Amazon (or if its dispatched from Amazon) there shouldn't be a problem.

I agree there shouldn't be… not my colleague's experience, item was sold and dispatched by Amazon

Any high value item need to delivery to store or locker to pick up these days.7

Also, need to record a video for box opening as well.

Best to avoid getting expensive PC stuffs from amazon anyway…

    Consider a used one?

With £250, I would probably go for used Dell micro or lenovo tiny instead…
