Online order stuck in transit
I ordered some roofbars on the 29th June and received an email on the 30th June saying they were out for delivery. On the 1st July i received an email saying there was a delay but have not had any update since.
Can i cancel the order and how would i go about doing it?

Who did you order from?
Who is the courier?

If it is in transit you cannot cancel it but you can refuse delivery or return it within 14 days as a change of mind.
You may have to pay to return it.

Yes, you can cancel it.
Reg 29 Right to Cancel of the CCR says:
The cancellation period begins when the contract is entered into. The consumer may cancel a distance or off-premises contract at any time in the cancellation period.
In the unlikely event that the trader despatches the goods without contract being formed, then of course there would be no contract to cancel

Ordered from Car.Racks but the order was processed by Mick Gararge
An Post is the courier.

An post is Irish I believe.
Not sure how that helps you though unless customs are involved in the shipping.

I've asked for them to cancel the order as there is no update in delivery which should've been 1-3days.
They have since responded with a Royal Mail tracking reference stating it was delivered to my neighbour on the 26th June - quite impressive as i didn't place my order until the 29th June!!

This is interesting.
My son ordered a set of roof bars from a seller in Ireland. These never arrived although he had a RM tracking link that said something had been delivered.
My son's at work right now but this sounds very similar. It could be the same seller. I'll ask him for more details when he's back home tonight.

My son's on his lunch break and has replied to my message.
Yes, it was also Mick's Garage.
Yes, they sent a tracking link that showed the package as delivered but there was no sign of the goods.
He had trouble getting replies from Mick's Garage but eventually complained enough to ParcelForce that their driver came around to try and find the package himself. He couldn't. The driver took pity on him and refunded him out of his own pocket - probably not ParcelForce policy, so don't rely on this 😬
Bravely (other words could be used) he reordered from the same seller, this time via eBay. The second set did turn up and are currently reducing the fuel economy of his Micra.

Very interesting. The only tracking information ive received is from AN POST which is an Irish delivery firm. I assume they transfer over to Royal Mail. The last tracking update from AN POST was on the 30th June saying the order was delayed.
The tracking provided by Micks Garage was obviously not for my order and was delivered from a from a delivery centre about 270 miles away

If it comes from Irish Republic then it may be going through customs.
How much did you pay for these bars?
