13 amp Cooker / hob question

My daughter has just recently moved into a small flat which although clean and nice area ect is very basic

The issue is the electrics , she says she’s been told she would probably need to get a plug in 13 amp standing cooker, or a 13 amp hob and oven , I’m taking it the circuit in the kitchen wouldn’t cope with anything with a higher wattage

What would be best ? Are plug in cookers any good ? Or would she be better with the hob and oven ? She has a bf but Is living herself so I doubt whatever she buys or I buy for her will be getting used anywhere near full blast

Some fan ovens, can run off a normal 13A plug, and some need wiring in to a separate higher amp cooker circuit.

We have a Bosch one that just plugs into the mains and works fine.

You can also get hobs that you can just plug in, but the power is restricted compared to hard wired ones.

You can get ovens that operate on a 13amp supply. But an electric hob will require a higher rate/ 30 amp supply.

I’m sure you can get jobs that run off 13 amps, I appreciate say running the 4 elements might not work

Thanks , I’ve already been looking for 13 amp appliances for her and Bosch had cropped up a few times as a good option

But these "hobs" are little more than glorified hot plates, so no good for cooking on.

A flat, even a small one, without a proper cooker/hob connection sounds a little dodgy (unless it is one of these minimalist "flats" sometimes advertised in London). If it is true that this flat lacks a dedicated cooker/hob connection, I'd be wondering what other "essentials" are missing.

A 4 ring hob running on 13amps or 3kW max .......these will be hotplates only not really suitable for cooking.

I appreciate and take on board what your saying , But for instance the link above provided by another contributor shows loads of 13 amp hobs that seem to be just fine for a single person

We have a 4 ring induction hob running off a 13 amp plug. It's totally fine if using only a couple of the rings, but any more and it seems to "alternate" between the rings.

If in her situation these days I would just go for a combination of slow cooker microwave and air fryer...unlesss trad cooking is important.
