Is there a 2 year wait, before you can apply for PIP again after residency fail?

I’m a nurse who worked for Atos as a PIP assessor, before deciding that there was no solid guidelines. I try and give an assessor point of view, I might not say what you want to hear, but the same can be said for a lot of experienced posters on here.

This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.


Its ONLY focus is helping people with their money.


It's here to help people find out what they are entitled to under the current system, and to help them get it.


Benefits provide a lifeline for many, and this site is here to help people with their money, and not to judge. Of course, how to illegally defraud the benefits system shouldn't be discussed here, but ensuring you're getting your entitlement is exactly what it’s about.

Once I apply in Jan 2027 how long will the application process take? Is it about 6 months to a year ?

That is a bit how long is a piece of string but you can probably expect it to be four or five months upwards. Probably towards the higher end scale.

if agreed, though you will get money backdated to the date of your claim.

1. Only if successful.
2. Only to the start of that application. If you apply in July 26 and dont reach the threshold, but apply again in January 27, if you then are successful then it will be backdated to the start of that application (January 27)
3. I had previously noted this when you moaned about them dragging out the process.
