Spookily as I posted she asked! She said she wanted to go and get something to eat. I said no as I cannot afford to and explained DD had done some food shopping and listed about 6 different options for her that was in the kitchen at which point she said it didn't matter as she didn't really want anything aka she didn't want anything healthy / normal to eat and probably wanted to buy sweets. I have told her the options and explained that this isn't just for today but will be ongoing. Feeling proud of myself for saying no but at the same time incredibly guilty for saying no!

Off to dig out soup maker!!

Why is everything so complicated? 😕 I had my first day at new job yesterday and it seems like a good opportunity with plenty of over time options which could fit around first job. However today I've received my universal credit statement which is now saying based on job number 1 earnings I will now receive £40 payment but my rent paid in full. This means if I do job number 2 I will be approx £150 a month better off - is this actually worth it? Not sure what to do. Why didn't UC tell me this before! Or what if this is a one off? But then it would still be £150 more for the debts plus overtime options?

In other news Sunday was a NSD as should tomorrow be. Today I have had to put £10 fuel in as I didn't have enough for work journeys this week and yesterday I had to do a mini top up shop.

May I suggest you post on the benefits board? They should bd able to help with the more work/money coming v less uc calculations
