THAT'S the deal. Good spot.

RumRat

Good price, but add in the £10 for the first months data to get correct pricing.

Brilliant. Not sure what you mean about the £10 top up. I have a Lebara £5 a month deal which suits me just fine. Could I just buy the phone for £99? Thanks

You can't buy the phone from Giffgaff if you are not their customer.

So most ppl would purchase £10 1 month no contract plan and get the discounted £99 A17.

It looks like the phone offer is only available with an 18 month giffgaff contract to me

Had a look and yes it says you have to take an 18 month giffgaff contract but you can cancel anytime. Remembering previous dealings with them, they push the hard sell not to leave and I was on the phone for ages trying to cancel. For that reason I'm not going to bother with them but thanks for the info.

Actually have seen there is an option for 20gb rolling for £10, buried quite deep. Would be very wary of agreeing an 18 month contract on the assumption 'you can leave any time'

If you are an existing Giffgaff customer (which I am on a not used PAYG) you can buy the phone for £99, no other commitment.

If you go to buy it as a non-customer you can select (with a bit of finding) to get the £10/mth rolling contract rather than the default 18mth mentioned by @savergrant. So it'll cost you £109 - the rolling contract can be cancelled immediately.

Very wise, you can't just 'leave at any time'. It's a full-on PAYM deal.

It's not difficult. Go to the linked phone….Click on 'See all plans'….Choose the 20GB monthly rolling option. Cost £10. You can leave anytime just by turning off the 'Auto Renew' option.

Of course you don't ever have to use the GiffGaff sim as the phone is unlocked anyway.
