Emirates Compensation Difficulty
I was delayed in February travelling from Singapore to UK via Dubai. Upon landing in Dubai I was informed that the flight was overbooked so I was moved to a later flight, and taken to a nearby airport hotel to wait. I have enquired to Emirates Customer Affairs who emailed me to say that the delay was due to Air Traffic Control restrictions that cannot be controlled.
Would I be able to claim or is this a dead end? It is difficult to find the correct place on the Emirates website to submit a claim.
All advice is gratefully received. Thank you.

Overbooking has nothing to do with ATC restrictions. Argue the point with Emirates.

Thanks TELLIT01, I will do. I have just attempted to respond with this to the email they sent me and I don't have permission to send to them. I feel like Emirates will make this as painful as possible.
I recently had a claim with Lufthansa that was very clean and easy to submit on their website and was paid in under a week. Very different experience.

If they provided accommodation and food along with rebooking you on the next available flight, what do you think your are entitled to?
I believe any compo will be in line with UAE regulations, have you ascertained what those are?0 -
As you were denied boarding you are due a voucher from Emirates:

Irrespective of the reason for the delay what regulations are you claiming under?
Your Lufthansa claim would have been under EU261 or UK261…fixed compensation depending on distance (and within the airline's control)
A flight from outside the EU/UK on a non-EU/UK airline does not fall into the scope of these regulations. Have you found UAE regulations that would apply?
