Morning all, I'm currently tackling laying some stones on a patch in our garden. It's the last major task in the 'let's do the garden ourselves to save money' project. Nearly done though and then I'll be able to get on with flying 😁.

Today's list for me:

• Trip to recycling centre to drop off the cardboard
• Pick up click and collect order from Boots
• Pick up parcel and a frozen pizza
• Lay rest of stones and clear everything away
• Water plants
• Long bath and a frozen pizza as DH is out tonight

Morning. Hope you're all ok today.

I had a lie in till 7am. As it's cooler I didn't need to walk Poppet at 5am today. So far, I've just watered the back garden and greenhouse although it's supposed to rain later. Just having breakfast and will try to report back with any flying this morning. This afternoon and evening I'm meeting friends.

He wasn't so good yesterday, words were bad again and suddenly he couldn't hear us even though he could the day before. Kept rubbing his head that means headache. I went to speak to the "staff nurse" who said he was fine in the morning. I had to repeat myself several times before she understood me and then said she'd "have a word with the doctor". Hope its not the same doctor who we saw the day after he was admitted, who said Dad hasn't got the brain damage hes had for 20 odd years. Yes I am bitter.

DD1 and the baby are coming with us today while my GS is at nursery. I have warned her it's hard word as we have nothing to talk to him about.

Yesterday I finally put the washing away and made the bed, S/S the kitchen and loaded the DW after dinner. So far today I've put the DW on and another load in the WM. I've also make a batch of chilli to put in the freezer so another load with go in the DW later.

I'd like some advice please ladies (& gents). Where do you store your onions? I've always just left them in the bag they come in in the cupboard but suddenly they've started going soft very quickly. What can I do to stop this happening?

I'm now going to finish my coffee and argue with my mobile which has decided not to remember any of my passwords and won't recognise them even if I input them by hand. If I can't sort it I'm hoping DD2 will be able to

Good morning everyone

I have washing to peg out if it stays dry. Hospital appointment later today (nothing sinister) and I must update my diary as I have other stuff coming up (including my annual boob squashing); don't want to double-book myself (which I am more than capable of doing). I am making the most of the cooler weather to get up-to-date with stuff.

Oh my goodness! It was meant to be the plural of Fridge Freezer - just goes to show what an innocent young lady I am!!! My sincere apologies, Valli.

This morning I have checked the fridges and veg box, made a list of everything in them, and we appear to have enough new and sweet potatoes to last us until the weekend if we eat them at every meal 🤣 so it will be small jacket potatoes with ham, cheese and salad for lunch, today, and possibly sweet potatoes with stew this evening (if it doesn't get any warmer - was still below 20deg outdoors at 9.15.

I forgot to say yesterday that while I was decanting this year's spring bulbs from the flowerpots where they had dried out into paper bags for storage until the autumn, I came across two unopened packets, one containing a nerine bulb and one an agapanthus, both sprouting. I remember now that I bought them on one of our GC visits a few weeks ago. I must plant them into big flowerpots and hope they survive.

Knit & Natter this afternoon, if anyone comes (some people said on Sunday that they would be there).

DH's leg and foot are badly swollen and I fear we may have to change our holiday plans next week to accommodate clinic visits, which will mean more days out from home and no proper hotel break. He should have rung the surgery a week ago but thought he could treat it himself. Grrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well. It seems having typed this missive this morning, I forgot to press post! I never made it to the allotment, but I did clean the LR French windows and the frames.

Sneaking back yet again after a (long planned, all our plans just happen to be one after each other this year, then nothing) weekend away with friends. We had a lovely time, keeping cool was the aim. Pub gardens under umbrellas was the order of the weekend.

Thinking of you, WW. Welcome back YL (waving wildly). Well done Narc0, I might need to pick your grains later in the year, although I do love my hybrid.

After all of our recent gallivanting and decorators, plus the excuse of hot weather, I need to buckle down and dust off my wings again. The LR has been decorated, now the floor and windows need a thorough clean so that the room can be put back together. The wm has just finished, clean washing has been sorted, hair washed and is on its way to resembling a frizz ball so will need taming shortly. I need to venture to the allotment to view casualties after a weekend of neglect. Yesterday I sorted out the new fridge and filled up the freezer, doing an inventory as I went. Mr M will deliver this afternoon, nothing for the freezer though. WW - onions are going soft here too and I always keep them in the same cloth bag. I am blaming the weather plus they may still be stored onions from last year.

Wm has finished. I will hang it out, as the small chance of rain may never materialise.

The onions may actually be cooking in the hot weather depending on how how the place where you are storing them is. Hopefully the weather will change soon.

Good evening all, I've not done much flying today as I was on a 10 hour shift at placement. Since I got home, I have fed the animals, walked the dog, sorted my bag, clothes and lunches for tomorrow, emptied the kitchen bin and switched the DW on.

Tonight I will spend an hour on uni work and get an early night, as I've got another long day tomorrow.

hello everyone! I'm back from holiday and raring to get flying (ha ha not really 😃)

However, I have done some washing, line dried it and put it away. All our holiday stuff is now back where it should be including the suitcases and the cat carrier after his return from his jaunt to the cattery.

Dining table and placemats are clean. Bedroom dusted and spare room tidied.

Some fiddly and irritating admin completed today. Sadly it means that the next admin in this particular interminable mire of admin now needs to be started.

@wendywitch - a colleague of mine who was a very, very senior nurse told me that no-one knows or cares about your loved one more than you do, so we have to be assertive and tenacious when they are in hospital. It doesn't necessarily come naturally but you could ask for a meeting with the senior doctor or ask the nurse to explain the care plan to you including what tests dad is having and when the results will be known.

🐰🐇 Morning All - White rabbits

Yesterday I decided to clean the bedroom windows as it wasn't sunny. This led to cleaning the sills and frames. Upshot is I then dusted my BR and have prepped for a full floor clean of upstairs and have sorted some of DDs bedding to take over to steel city. Plan to take her some flowers as she's just passed some interviews and has been offered a permanent role as a Band 6 dietitian. And I have arranged to meet DS for lunch.

Just found out yesterday that SD's golfing/boozing buddy was the victim of an attempted murder last week - the perp had already committed a murder at a local stone circle so P. was very lucky and they've got the bloke. P is very shaken, unsurprisingly. Random attack by a primary school and parents are up in arms about the school boundary fencing which is a bodge job, apparently.
